Hotel Boutique Hacienda Ucazanaztacua — Hotel in Michoacán

If you want a true Mexican experience with hardly any foreign tourists, travel to the center of Mexico to Michoacán. There is a unique hotel on Lake Patzcuaro that fits the bill. Hacienda Ucazanaztacua is a small charming hotel built on the side of a hill right on Lake Patzcuaro. The views of the lake are spectacular. The hotel is beautifully decorated and built in the style of haciendas of old. The construction incorporates the unique wood, adobe and copper from the surrounding area. It is complete with wi fi connectivity. There is no TV but that just adds to the peacefulness and tranquil atmosphere. The food is fabulous and is a blend of the indigenous delicacies of the area and traditional continental cuisine. There are several small towns to visit that have beautiful textiles and artisan copper wares. It is wonderful venue for weddings and special parties. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful in making your stay special. I highly recommend an adventure to this special part of Mexico....

||Magical Gem|||From the moment we arrived we were impressed by Julio and the rest of the staff. They could not have been more accommodating, courteous, or well trained. Our room presented a spectacular view of Lake Patzcuaro which reminded us of looking out at Bellagio at Lake Como in Italy.|Breakfast was included in the room and it was available usually between 9 and 11:30 a.m.||Room service was available where we had fresh made guacamole, the house brand of Mescal, and luxuriated with a brilliant sunset.||Rafael the owner was knowledgeable and enchanting and the wealth of knowledge regarding the local social and political structure of Michoacán. Este hotel hay que ir, sólo por la vista que tiene, en casi todas sus habitaciones, si vas en pareja y con ganas de no hacer nada. Sin tv, sin un estacionamiento cómodo, ya que esta en declive. Silla de ruedas, olvidarlo. Bastón, menos. Muchísimas escaleras para llegar a sus distintas áreas. Su comida eso sí es muy buena, pero si sufres de alergias, no te pares ahí, pq todo es madera húmeda, con lo que conlleva eso. Su alberca es fría, ni por casualidad llega a los 24 grados, y si a eso le agregas el clima, uno esperaría por lo que paga uno, una alberca mínimamente tibia. Al menos no se generan bacterias por lo baja de su temperatura. Sus horarios como están lejos de todo, son limitados. Su personal eso sí, es muy amable. Pero no esperen un resort. Es un hotel con muchísimas limitantes para considerarlo Boutique. Sus regaderas no hay presión de agua. Y en sus chimeneas, los tiros, no son suficientemente anchos para sacar el humo al prenderla, por lo que tu habitación estará mitad humo dentro y mitad fuera. Por todo lo anterior las tres estrellas. No le pongo una, pq el personal y la vista lo salvan. Pero insisto, si vas tu con tu pareja y quieren una fantástica vista en un lugar húmedo con neblina romántico, sin salir a ningún lado de fin de semana, este es el lugar. Su internet es bueno sin duda. La señal de celular no hay, o es muy poca la que se encuentra. Los baños del restaurante principal, casi sin luz, y llenos de arañas, por lo mismo que esta a pie de lago. No los revisan, en lo referente a su limpieza. Es un hotel que creo está sobrevalorado. Cuesta mucho dinero para lo que uno recibe. En pocas palabras , pagas por la vista y tu seguridad. Porque cerca, no hay mucho de donde elegir. Sólo ya en Patzcuaro o Tzinzuntzan. Lo visitamos por toda la propaganda que vimos en revistas de lujo en cuanto a hoteles, al menos a nosotros como pareja, nos decepcionó. Nos dejamos en esta ocasión llevar por la mercadotecnia. Hay un burrito por cierto muy simpático al que le puedes dar de comer. Y si van en tiempo de frío ,otoño , invierno una muy muy muy buena chamarra, pq hace...
