EDIT: I have since had a few conversations with management and they have rectified every concern. I understand that the Susurros is touted as one of the premier resorts in Punta Mita/PVR. While the trip began on a promising note, a series of mishaps ultimately ruined our stay, reflecting a noticeable gap between expectations and reality. Our initial inconvenience began with early check-in not being honored, resulting in a three-hour wait. During this period, we requested that some perishable food items from our car be stored to prevent spoilage. Unfortunately, this request was overlooked, and the food was left in the car, where it spoiled. Expectations were further let down during our dining experiences. Despite having confirmed reservations for a sunset beach dinner, upon arrival, we were informed that no such reservations existed and the desired slot was fully booked. Ultimately they would get us “on the list” but what’s the point of having reservations if you have to redo everything? Additionally, our breakfast orders were incorrectly prepared and required redoing, leading to further delays, when they were already greatly backed up due to a wedding party. One of the highlights we anticipated was a prepared bath after a lavish dinner costing $500 for two, inclusive of a mandatory 17% service charge, taxes, and fees. Regrettably, no one came by to do draw the bath. The irony is that during check in the attendant (who was indeed a very nice person) brought up the drawing a bath as an example of something they could and would do for us. Interesting to bring up something like that and then not do it. Post-stay, obtaining a copy of our folio to review charges became an ordeal. Despite assurances that it would be sent within 24 hours of our departure, multiple follow-up calls were necessary to obtain it. When I do finally get it, I find that a balloon that I had requested to be in the room that read “Happy 2 Year Anniversary” cost $2,343 pesos. I’m all for understanding that a luxury resort will be pricey, but at what point does it become gouging? Lastly, our experience with the late check-out option, guaranteed until 4pm, was inconsistent. Initially, we were unsure if we could retain our room until the designated time. Confirmation came only at 2pm on the day of departure. However, upon returning to our room at 2:45pm, we found ourselves locked out, in bathing suits, and waiting 15 minutes to regain access. In summary, while the rooms and property are undeniably beautiful—truly the only redeeming feature—our overall experience fell short of the luxury standard we expected from the Auberge Collection.

This review accounts for four of five nights that met my expectation. I made a reservation at the recommendation of my trusted travel agent. I initially reserved four nights. After reading the list of offered activities, i decided to add an extra night. The call to request the change was easy. I must also say my initial reservation was for October and made in less than the cancellation period. When i called to make a change due to bad weather, they were very kind and understanding. Instructions to meet the driver/airport team were easy. Finding the driver upon arrival was easy. Driving into the resort was very beautiful. After two days, i decided to stay longer. I felt very joyful at the sight of the team that welcomed me. The beach was clean and peaceful. I was impressed by the staff working together very well. The coffee delivered daily was good. My meals were overall delicious. I have an allergy to fish/seafood. I ate fish daily without issue or reaction. Speaks to the quality. The managers were responsive to communication. The staff were kind, diligent and always smiling and eager to help. Internet connectivity was good. Lot of activities to engage in. My private pool was wonderful. While i traveled alone, i never felt alone or lonely. I felt safe walking at night. The decor is my style. The tiles in the bathroom won my heart. The bed is excellent. The Mattress is just right Lighting and temperature control are sufficient. I had one day of mishaps that were addressed by the managers.

Vomit. Moldy grapes. Crab in room, dead bug in sandwich is the short version of my stay. Here are the details. Prior to coming, i ordered balloons and a cake. By less than 24 hours before i was yo have checked out no one had communicated anything to me. I spoke up and the order was comped. I’d also requested a specific date for dinner on the beach. When i arrived and emailed to confirm, i was told that specific dinner was out of season. I am not one to complain. when I noticed that there was some brown liquid, which had a stench to it. I did not say anything for at least a day or two. Upon arrival, asked to have a dish prepared for me. The dish was delivered prepared incorrectly. The next day, the correct dish was prepared. However, the dish was accompanied by a fruit and cheese platter. The grapes looked fine at the top. The grapes underneath had mold. They told me they were aware the grapes were going bad. The worst of it is when the manager came to my room, she came and apologized about everything but the moldy grapes. I had to bring up and ask if she knew about the grapes. She stood in front of me and made excuses that they knew the grapes were going bad and because they were not eaten immediately, they got moldy. There was also a baby crab in my room which no one has acknowledged. They decided to comp my dinner because a guest had been drumming. The food they brought has a dead bug stuck to the cheese. I came here yo celebrate an anniversary and got carelessness.

Review of Hotel Susurros del Corazon, Punta Mita My stay at Hotel Susurros del Corazon in Punta Mita had its highs and lows, but overall, it fell short of expectations for a luxury resort in Mexico. While the property itself has undeniable charm, the lack of activities, exorbitant pricing, and restrictive environment left me wishing I’d chosen a different destination. The Good The resort’s grounds are stunning and impeccably maintained, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The hotel room was a highlight—beautifully designed with a fantastic shower and an exceptionally comfortable bed that made for restful nights. The pool area was another win, with a relaxing vibe and a fun swim-up bar that added a touch of enjoyment to lazy afternoons. The beach was equally inviting, offering a tranquil spot to unwind with the sound of waves in the background. The Not-So-Good Unfortunately, the positives were overshadowed by several frustrations. The on-site restaurant was a letdown—my steak was overcooked twice, and the morning pastries were underwhelming, lacking the quality you’d expect from a high-end resort. More concerning was the lack of dining options. With only one restaurant on the property, you’re essentially stuck eating there, as Punta Mita offers little in the way of alternatives. The town itself is small, unremarkable, and lacks charm, with only a few basic stands and overpriced pharmacies to explore. Unlike more vibrant destinations like Cabo, there’s almost nothing to do outside the resort, and the inability to visit neighboring resorts for dining or activities made the experience feel isolating. The pricing at Susurros del Corazon was a major sticking point. Everything felt inflated beyond reason. For example, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne was priced at an astonishing $350—four to five times its retail cost. Food and spa services were similarly exorbitant, far exceeding what I’ve encountered at other luxury resorts in Mexico and worldwide. The sense of being “nickel and dimed” started early: we paid nearly $190 for airport transportation arranged by the hotel, only to be told on arrival that we’d need to pay an extra $12 for toll roads or face an hour-long detour. This fee should have been included, and the experience set a frustrating tone for the trip. Final Thoughts While Hotel Susurros del Corazon boasts beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and a relaxing beach and pool, it doesn’t live up to the standards set by other luxury resorts like the Auberge properties in Cabo. The lack of activities, restrictive dining options, and shockingly high prices made the five-day stay feel overly long—two days would have been plenty. The resort feels like it capitalizes on its captive audience, charging premium prices for a less-than-premium experience. For those seeking a lively, value-driven luxury getaway, I’d recommend...

First of all, I must admit that I fail miserably in writing reviews... normally. BUT there was no way I could live with myself without giving Susurros del Corazon a glowing report.

My partner and I spent a glorious 3-nights at the resort to celebrate a big birthday and I can tell you ,it was the most memorable stay I have had anywhere!! I had a good idea of the impeccable style and beauty of the resort from the website photos and description, but what we weren't prepared for was the heart-warming treatment and outstanding service we received from the moment we stepped foot on the property. Our Cuates (which translates to friends I believe) Alondra, Robin, Ritchie & Pablo and wait staff, Danny, Victor, Mario and others made certain that we wanted for nothing during the entire stay...

Every member of the staff was over-the-top amazing in every way. Because we were there during off-season, the resort was fairly empty, which meant lucky for us, we were upgraded to the most incredible cliffside room, at no extra charge. While you certainly can't go wrong with any of the rooms here, I would highly recommend the cliffside rooms, as the view is stunning with a huge balcony overlooking the crashing waves. The bed was so comfy and every touch in the room was very well thought-out and styled to perfection. The vibe is so peaceful with the sounds of the ocean to lull you to sleep...all just a short stroll through the perfectly-manicured grounds to the beach, pools and restaurants etc

But back to the staff... the people here are truly the sweetest ever. I was treated like a queen for three days... with special desserts, flowing drinks and hand-picked flowers (plumeria blooms everywhere!) But two experiences really blew us away... one afternoon the staff on duty led us from the pool out to the beach where they had spelled out in grand fashion "Happy Birthday Andrea" written in seaweed... I almost cried!! It was such a fun photo op and made my day that much more special than it already was. Then, later that day, after an incredibly delicious dinner at the main restaurant, we were surprised once again with a framed photo of myself, twinkle lights and a customized card upon returning to our room... such an incredibly thoughtful gesture. Totally blown away by all of the effort.

Last but not least... every meal, snack and drink we had was fresh and delicious... every morsel was a delight.

In retrospect, there isn't one thing we would change about our stay,. Book today if you are considering Susurros del Corazon, "Whispers of the Heart", you won't regret it. We are already looking forward to our next visit... until then, much love to our...
