Bad experience
The staff: I don't think they know anything about service standars, such as "Preferred" nor "AAA". They were ungentle, confrontive and even used to answer the phone with an "hola", no introducing themselves, not even after you request to know who is the person assisting you. We had 3 rooms under the same name so we regularly needed to use the inter- phone to get in contact, though when we called the Front desk to find out how to do it they told us that we'll have to go through them each time, and so we did (but I have to say that it became very annoying and very quickly) only to find out another inconvenience with this process... That a lady from the Front changed the previous regular standar to ask on top of that, who is the person in particular (full name) trying to get in contact with the rest of our family (from room to room, both under the exact same name and hosting people with same last name).
The rooms: On the first day I called the Front desk to have 2 extra bath towels send up to my room and went out. When we came back, I checked the towels before I went in the shower room but found that what they send was onlyo one bath towel and a mat (and that the mat had ugly stains and was riped a little) but I let it pass and took a shower with only one towel (we were 3 pax in this room). Next day I called and asked the same after explaining to the lady at the Front about the previous day and making sure that this wasn't happening again, but when the maid showed up, she gave me 2 ugly stained mats and said that they have to do this when they run out of bath towels. Unacceptable.
Check in & out was ease and that is the best thing I can say about my experience in this place. Fortunately, we were here for a happy occasion outside the hotel and that part...
Read moreStayed here for 3 weeks straight for a procedure, the food here was absolutely terrible. Every meal I had was from Uber eats because the food was inedible in the hotel. Had some good moments and most of the staff were pretty nice. I made sure to tip every person very well & be a good guest. At the end of my stay I asked one of the staff if they had a washing machine, they told me that they can wash clothes. They gave me a form, with 4 separate sections and one of them very clearly stated “no additional charge,” so I was under the impression it was free. I brought a bag of laundry, they did it and then after it was done they said I owed them $3052 (Mexican pesos). I was super insulted that they didn’t warn me how it actually did cost money, I would have gone across the street and paid $2/$3 to wash it myself had they properly explained to me that this was an absurdly expensive service. I had even been there for 3 weeks and probably was the longest stay they ever had & yet the “best they could do” was give me 20% off. It was a total slap to the face, considering how well I had treated all their staff, tipping very high in every encounter and being very friendly. I had to Pay $160 Canadian dollars for my small bag of laundry to be returned to me. I Felt totally scammed. Ruined my stay. I’ll be coming back to Monterrey in about 6 months and I definitely won’t ever be staying at this hotel again. They lost a good customer. Wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone. There are better places that won’t prey on people who treat them with respect...
Read morePeople warned me that sometimes when some people in Mexico realize your American they will up the prices on you but I never expected them to do it at a big hotel chain. But that is what happened. I booked the room no where during the booking was I asked about the ages of the people in the rooms but when I arrived I had to get my sister in law to translate for me. The front desk girl asked me how many people in the room we told her 4, my husband and my two children. then she asked the ages and said because one of my children was 13 they count them as an adult and have to charge me an additional $80. The funny part was another family we were traveling with who speak fluent Spanish checked in right after us had the same amount of people in their room and they have 14 year old, they were not up charged for their 14 year old child their price remained the same as what they reserved it for. It was clear to me that bc they knew I was American she took the opportunity to charge me more because she could. I would never recommend staying here because of that reason unless you want to be scammed. Besides that everything else was ok. The only good thing was the...
