Gamma Monterrey Rincón de Santiago — Hotel in Nuevo León

I was a guest of this hotel at the end of June for the weekend, we rented the villa option. The positives are that the hotel has an exceptional view and a private pool for those that stay in the Villas. The weekend buffet was DELICIOUS with a variety of options, if you travel with kids the room does count with a great streaming service with access to Netflix and Disney Plus. The Villa was very spacious and it fit us 4 very comfortably The Negatives: I am writing from the perspective of my experience in the Villa. To start the Villas are located accross the street and up in the mountains, so you need a golf cart to get over there, the hotel does have a terrace/bridge that gets you to that side of the Villas but you have to hike and there are multiple steps and levels to get to your room. The hotel does offer golf carts to get you up there and it's easy to get one when you are in the lobby but when you are in the room, you will be waiting for at least 45 minutes if anyone shows up at all. There are not enough golf carts to go around. Besides that the hotel prohibits any outside food so you are at the mercy of what they serve in their restaurants, during our stay only one restaurant was open so you had to eat there. They do offer room service but even if you call and pick up the food yourself or get it delivered they will charge you an 18% gratuity fee. The villas do not have a microwave or a fridge so even if you do order room service your food will get cold. Uber does not travel up to the hotel so rent a car if you want to leave the hotel for any reason. I did not ask the hotel staff if they had a taxi service or some sort of vehicle service to recommend so...

The view is fantastic from almost anywhere in the hotel, and the villas are well worth it, the spa is also very relaxing with profesional workers who know what they are doing. Everything is very clean and are very strict on their policies for Covid-19 as well as friendly staff. My deal breaker had to be when we and were lied upon arrival, We took advantage of a package upon reservation and as soon as we arrived a girl told us our package reservation included a lunch as well and told us she would give us an explanation during lunch on what else is included in the hotel, activities, and then give us a tour around. DONT FALL FOR IT, ITS ALL A LIE! THEY HAD US SIT FOR 3 HOURS TO TRY AND SELL US A CLUB MEMBERSHIP! Even if they tell their explanation takes a moment, they will have you wait, then leave and have "their manager" come talk to you, then switch back (with a long wait in between), rinse and repeat. We kept telling them we had to leave because we had an important appointment to attend to but they just wouldn't let us go until I handed out my credit card to pay a large sum I was not ready to pay. We barely managed to get out of there after constant back and forth, we ended up loosing our appointment (and the deposit we made) because of these people. This made the stay pretty uncomfortable afterwards as we would recognize the staff members who tried to force us into this when we would walk down to the restaurant, pool or lobby. That was horrible and no way to have your guests feel...

Nosotros llegamos el fin de semana. Al llegar nos atendieron muy bien y como aún faltaban algunos minutos para el check in pasamos al restaurante que está en la parte de arriba del hotel hay que subir el elevador y caminar unos metros.

Hasta aquí bien ... Llegamos al restaurante y había mucho movimiento de meseros caminaban de un lado para otro , estaban levantando la barra del buffet. Nos hacen pasar a un espacio con aire acondicionado pero lleno de moscas por todos lados. Nos hacen esperar 30 minutos para atendernos colocar los cubiertos y llevar el QR del menú.

Ese día hacía mucho calor , el lugar con las moscas y pedimos nos pusieran un ventilador de mesa para auyentales mientas pedíamos. Mientras tanto los meseros comiendo parados del otro lado de la ventana y uno sin poder hacer el pedido de sus alimentos te estoy hablando que para esto ya había pasado cerca de una hora.

Por fin pedimos llegaba y llegaba gente y les hacían esperar igual que a nosotros , por fin pedimos y trajeron los alimentos la verdad no quedamos satisfechos con la calidad de los alimentos muchísimo menos con el servicio.

Vamos a las habitaciones y todo muy bien , durante el día estuvimos recibiendo con mucha insistencia una invitación para ir a un desayuno donde te ofrecen planes y paquetes del grupo hotelero. Nosotros íbamos de descanso y a festejar un cumpleaños nos insistieron tanto nos enviaron un postre de bienvenida todo para que accedieramos a ir al desayuno. Nos agendan el desayuno a las 9:30 am del siguiente día.

Llegamos nos hacen esperar 5 min a que llegue la vendedora muy agradable nos hace pasar a una mesa , mientras hablaba y nos ofrecía nadie se acercó a ofrecernos ninguna bebida hasta que la vendedora se para y solicita al mesero nos lleve bebidas ... Obviamente todo lo llevaba de mala gana y así paso 1:30 min. Esperando a que siquiera nos llevarán algo de desayunar yo llevaba 2 niños pequeños y el desayuno nunca llego, veíamos que atendían a los que llegaban menos a nosotros. Nos hicieron pasar un mal rato , no habíamos desayunado y ella no dejaba de hablar de paquetes y dinero... Realmente pésima atención , decidimos irnos a desayunar a otro lado , lo cual implica salir del hotel recorrer aproximadamente unos 4Km para llegar a la salida buscar un restaurante y por fin poder desayunar.

Durante el día nos ofrecen un spa ... Un spa después de toda una mañana perdida, de su falta de atención!!!!! Para seguirnos ofreciendo sus paquetes!!! Muy mal...

Hicimos una noche astronómica primero te cobran $1,800 luego llega la chica de recepción a decirnos que no ella se había equivocado y que el precio era de $2,400.

Durante la noche astronómica llegaba el personal te alumbraba con los reflectores del carrito y no dejaba hacer la actividad. Incluso la persona que nos dio la actividad les comento que con tanta luz no podíamos llevar a cabo la actividad , total nos ignoraron y durante varios minutos iban y venían. Voy a creer que ellos saben o deberían saber que la actividad es en la oscuridad y deberían llevar lámparas o dejar todo preparado para hacer del momento lo menos invasivos y molesto.

Y bueno para terminar nuestra estancia en este lugar resulta que en la mañana no salía agua caliente en la regadera. Tuvimos que esperar más de 15 min a que el agua se calentará.

Es un buen hotel pero por el tema del restaurante lo demerita muchísimo.

Yo te recomiendo que mejor busques otra opciones comas fuera y te evites el mal rato. O lleves tus bebidas, tu botana y algo para que coman tus hijos mientras sales a la carretera. Sería ideal que uno pudiera comer y hacer todas las actividades dentro del hotel porque si hacemos cuentas un consumo de una familia de 4 como es mi caso es de aproximadamente $1,200 pesos afuera el consumo es menor pero sobre todo el trato más amable ,humano ,servicial rápido en cualquier restaurante a pie de carretera.

No, sé si regresariamos honestamente, para nosotros lo único rescatable fue la alberca , la vista y la noche...
