This was my third time at Sweet Retreats—I just love it so much! I've done a residence, a personal retreat and this time I did a three-week stay with Victorious Vertical, a personal retreat, and the Circus Fit Intensive, and each experience has leveled up my practice in different ways.
What keeps drawing me in are the high-quality classes with Kerri and Lily. Their instruction is clear, intentional, and incredibly supportive. They’re both so skilled at meeting you where you are and helping you grow from there. So much love to Kerri and Lily for all their hard work supporting my aerial growth. I am so freaking grateful to all the work they put in—it’s absolutely seen in every class. Plus, Sweet Retreats is truly a space where anyone can feel like an artist and let their freak flag fly—it’s such a liberating, inspiring environment to be part of.
Victorious Vertical was an absolute blast! Lily and Kerri taught silks, rope, and artistry, and every single class left me with new material and fresh ideas to explore. Their progressions made so much sense, and I saw huge improvements in my beats. I especially loved how the warm-ups were tailored to support whatever new skill we were learning that day. The artistry classes were my favorite—we got to play with characters, lean into juicy movements, and explore what makes an act come alive.
The Circus Fit Intensive was incredible (change name if desired). Kerri has such a deep understanding of the body; she could instantly spot what I needed to engage to make a skill click. Sometimes it was just the smallest tweak, but it made a huge difference! By the end of the intensive, I felt real gains in my inverts, middle splits, and beats. I left with a better understanding of how to work with my body and a plan to keep the progress going.
My personal aerial silks retreat at Sweet Retreats was incredible! It was the perfect way to take everything I’d learned from Victorious Vertical and start building my own practice with intention. What made it even better was being surrounded by other artists who were also on personal retreats—we cheered each other on, shared skills, and inspired one another every day.
Casa Chango always feels like home. It’s peaceful, welcoming, and has everything you need right there—the pool, delicious meals, lounge space to chill or work, and the gym. That setup gave my days an easy, natural flow between training, resting, and recharging. I...
Read moreAerialists! This open air aerial space is a dream come true. Imagine climbing a silk and as you ascend you get a Birds Eye view of a picturesque valley dropping into a river. You’re immersed in nature but have all the modern studio conveniences at your fingertips - tons of aerial points, a fully stocked apparatus closet and sound system. You literally only need to pack clothes to train here.
I hosted a group here just last week and we had a blast. I thought it would be super hot, but it turned out to be way less hot than it is here at home in San Antonio, TX. I had a room without AC and I didn’t miss it.
If the aerial space was the first best thing, the food was definitely the next best. A beautiful, colorful, healthy spread out for every single meal. I’m a carnivore who struggles with onion and garlic. There was protein for vegans at every meal as well. If the main meal had onion and garlic, they made a SEPARATE helping of the same meal w/o it just for me with my name on it.
Casa Chango is peaceful, relaxing and a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The customer service was not only attentive & responsive but also personal. Kerri K & the staff would make an effort to help out in anyway they could. The workup to the week was great - communicative, responsive & helpful. I’ll definitely be back to host again. If you’re contemplating hosting a group, I highly recommend it. There’s good profit potential for the group leader as well as just a...
Read moreI would recommend Sweet Retreats @ Casa Chango to anyone looking to lay a solid foundation for their aerial practice, expand their skill set, their understanding of physiology on and off the apparatus, or to just gain a better connection to their body/mind in an a glorious setting. Kerri and Dakota have decades of experience as performers and pass on their knowledge in a thorough yet approachable (and fun!) way. They accommodate all skill levels while being aware of any injuries you may have by working around them, and encourage you to not push your body past its limits. The love for their craft is palpable in every class they teach and I appreciate their openness and generosity of spirit they shared every day. The food is fresh, organic, and really delicious (thank you Stu and kitchen staff!) The accommodations are clean, spacious and relaxing. The general manager Eli is a fantastic host ready to help you with anything you need. I was worried the schedule would be too "packed" but it's actually ingenious -- perfectly planned out to fit just the right amount of practice, socializing, relaxing, and excursion. Plus, there is never any pressure to join in on everything -- however you end up joining everything because it's so much fun. I met a group of talented and amazingly hilarious people in my cohort that I will remember forever. Honestly can't wait to go back to sweet...
