Disappointing Family Stay ⭐☆☆☆☆
We recently stayed at Villa Boutique Hotel for a family getaway, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. While the property itself appeared charming at first, the reality was far from pleasant.
First, the service was incredibly poor. The staff displayed a dismissive and unprofessional attitude throughout our stay. Our requests for basic amenities were either ignored or met with indifference. It felt as though they were doing us a favor by simply doing their jobs.
To make matters worse, the hotel was plagued by mosquitoes. Despite keeping the windows closed, we were constantly bitten, making it nearly impossible to enjoy any time outdoors or even sleep comfortably. When I mentioned that my baby had been horribly bitten, the staff handed me a mosquito spray—but to my shock, they charged me for it at checkout without any prior mention of the cost.
On top of all this, there was no electricity for an entire day during our stay. We were given no warning or apology, leaving us without air conditioning, hot water, or the ability to charge our devices. It was extremely inconvenient, especially while traveling with children.
The kitchen was another major disappointment. It lacked basic essentials like a knife, cutting board, and even a lighter for the stove, making it nearly impossible to prepare meals. To make matters worse, the hot water didn’t work, and neither did the water cooler, which was supposed to provide hot water.
What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability. Not once did the staff offer any apologies for the poor service, the mosquito issue, the power outage, or the lack of functioning amenities. Their indifference was both frustrating and disappointing.
The overall atmosphere was marred by the staff’s lack of hospitality and the hotel’s neglect of guest comfort. For the price, we expected much better service and attention to detail. We would not recommend Villa Boutique Hotel for families seeking a relaxing or...

On checkin the villa was filthy; Hair on the sheets. Hair and dirt all over the floors. Food scraps in the kitchen sink. Dishes from past guests not put away. Cleaning rags left throughout the villa. Towels and sheets that are ratty and stained (you'd find better in a backpacker dorm).
Not sure when the website photos were taken but the property does not look like this.
We had asked for early checkin which was granted. We were then told 1 hour before we arrived that we would be charged an early checkin fee of $200USD. We declined and arrived at the normal checkin time only to find the villa filthy.
The two 'managers' who are running the villa on behalf of the owners are rude and incompetent. They could not care less about guests concerns. When we showed them the hair on the towels they picked it off and looked at it as if 'problem solved'.
We spent 4 weeks in Mexico at a number of beautiful, CLEAN, villas - avoid this one at all costs.
As we deemed this villa unfit to stay we tried to recoup our money from the owner who did not respond to our last correspondence.

The location of the house is great, the building is amazing, perfect for couples, families and friends. We had a baby with us and we enjoyed our stay so much because the house is build great for kids as well (a lot of nice shadow areas and with pool on the beach)! You can't ask for more😊 including the chefs that make delicious meals and snack for you that you don't ever have to think about making time for cooking.
Also the owners are the sweetest and they will go out of their way to make you comfortable. Thank you so much to the staff and to the...
