We arrived at noon but weren't allowed into our room until 3pm.Despite only about 20% occupancy and the room being ready.|We were allowed to use the pool facilities while we waited but without a room to change in we had to take our suitcase poolside and change in the public bathroom!(In hindsight we could have left our stuff in the car and changed in the car park!!)||When we finally did check-in the receptionist had a face like thunder and seemed annoyed. We were finally shown to our room and then I had to bring all our stuff up from the pool myself- No help from the staff (although he did hang around waiting for a tip-awkward).||Poor building design made for excellent acoustics. The slightest sound was amplified and echoed all around the acommodation.Didn't sleep a wink, it was like sleeping in an echo chamber! Guests above us decided to drag the furniture around at midnight, it sounded like an earthquake in our room.||Service was poor or non-existent.Housekeeping staff were noisy and even banged on our door despite having the "Do not disturb" sign displayed. No pool service.Had to walk the entire length of the hotel to the bar to order anything. Then it took 30 mins to arrive (We had only ordered 2 beers).||Spa was closed the whole time we were there except for the morning we checked out when we didn't have time.Kind of defeated the point of visiting a spa hotel!!||Only 2 wait staff in the restaurant so service was slow.Even though there were only 3 tables to serve!Food was meh :/||Basically we left more tired and stressed than when we arrived.... I would not recommend...
Read moreWe arrived before 11pm, thinking they were closed but is open 24/7, thanks goodness! The mud/dirt road entering the hotel was worth it, drove about 20 minutes from the main road to hotel on that dirt road. Checked in was a breeze since we are the only one there. Our room is on the 6th floor leveling the lobby. This hotel is surrounded by mountains, no AC needed since cold breeze from the mountains comes down to cool it. Our room is big enough for 6 people. It has a mini pool inside with plenty hot and cold water. We paid rack rate which was MXN$2,599/night (US$129) including meals/buffet. Our room has a balcony overlooking the pools. The view is amazing. Wifi is good inside the room. Meals was excellent, i have no complaints whatsoever. The main courses are made to order on the menu. The fruits, freshly squeezed juices, cereals, milk, coffee, tea on the buffet tables. We had a great time authentic Mexican cuisines! The pools are drained and cleaned twice a week. We witnessed them doing it. Only thing people eat and drink in the pool. Doesn't bothered me since the water was changed. The staff are friendly. I highly recommend this resort, it's...
Read moreWe stayed one night at the end of January of 2022.
Through Booking.com was fully booked until two days later, so we drove directly to the hotel to make a reservation. It was still full on the day, but they were able to get us in for the following day.
Lunch, dinner and breakfast were included in the accommodation fee, and the buffets with different menus were prepared for each meal, and every single dish was delicious!
First of all, the quality of the hot springs is the best. It does smell of sulfur, and the temperature is warm like a Japanese hot spring.
The room also has a large private rock bath. The amount of hot water is a lot enough that it did not take much time to full fill the large bathtub.
However we would be appreciate if they clean the bathtub properly. We had to clean it by ourselves before bathing.
Like some other hotels in the countryside of Mexico, it's quite cold but there is no heating, so we had to use an additional blanket provided by the hotel and hot pads from Japan.
I was disappointed that spa was fully booked even til next day.
We would love to stay 2 nights here next time!! Highly...
