An amazingly unique place near Tulum, Mexico. The first impression: it was like a villa in Bali, where we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It turned out to be a hybrid of a villa, an Airbnb and a resort with a concierge (more like a personal local friend). Without the high price tag and with all the flexibility. We started our trip by losing our pre-booked rental car due to a chronic overbooking issue in that region, but Yasmine greeted us with such warm hospitality (the lucky tequila helped) and planned with us around alternative transportation. So, like the locals, we had fun with the public transit Colectivo to nearby playas/beaches and cenotes, plus she connected us with her taxi driver friend for fancier restaurants and roaming Playa del Carmen. Yasmine is also an experienced and friendly diving instructor. We felt so comfortable cenote/cavern diving with her. I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel, and it truly felt like a little family paradise—perfect for relaxation and comfort! Yasmin is an exceptional host who immediately pampers you with delicious food, the best margaritas, and fantastic recommendations for places to visit. There’s nothing she considers impossible; she has an answer for every question and makes the impossible possible.
As a scuba diving instructor, Yasmin (aka MAMA-MERMAID) was the best I could have hoped for! Her expertise and knowledge are impressive. She explains everything in a practical and understandable way, and her sense of humor made the experience even more enjoyable. I felt completely comfortable and safe with her guidance.
