Surrounded by forest, away from any urban noise or interaction you will find this marvelous place to rest and experience nature at its best. Staff if very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable. There is a cellular antenna some yards away; so you’ll stay communicated with the busy world out there. It is recommendable to ask for the package with meals included, there is no point on leaving the hacienda. Food is hose-style regional food with enough options (spicy, not spicy at all). During our stay fireplaces were lit at all times. The region is a bit cold, it lays at 9,300 ft. (2,840 m) above sea level. ||||Despite well communicated and near to Mexico City and Toluca, this place rests “in the middle of nowhere”. There are good hiking and biking trails (you can rent a bike); there are at least three small lakes in which you can fish and practice kayak. ||I discover this place serendipitously looking for an isolated good resting place for a week end. I was not disappointed at all. ||||Despite well communicated and near to Mexico City and Toluca, this place rests “in the middle of nowhere”. Read moreIf your idea of vacation is to spend some days totally disconnected from civilization, I will recommend hotel to you. But if your idea of a country side hotel issomething closer to a city and "connected", this is NOT for you.||Even though this great place is only 2 hours away from Mexico city, it is deep into the country side, with a not so stable cellular phone coverage, no real TV in your room and no internet in the hotel. To get there have to take a rocky and a dust road well into the forest, not for someone with no adventurous spirit, even though the owner ( great host!) is willing to receive calls and give you directions.||The Hacienda is well taken care of, the rooms are upscaled cabins with good taste and the food is good in taste and quantity. Beware that if you feel the quantity is not enough it can be expensive to ask for another plate (I was charged 210 pesos for beans tacos).||The surroundings are marvelous! 3 damps a forest and lost of trails make of it a dream for those into biking and trekking.||Given that is a small hotel the service is not always responsive, but the team will mostly do their most to please you.||I have stayed here at least 2 times more and always enjoyed it, but again, this kind of hotel in not...
Read moreThis is probably one of the best kept secrets in Mexico's Haciendas. This property is nested right in the mountains, surrounded by a beautiful forest and lakes in complete isolation. The hacienda is very well maintained but keeps the old charm. The proprietor makes sure everything runs smoothly, from the moment you call to book all the way to check in and meals. The rooms are large, quiet and comfortable. There are no two rooms alike as every one has different set up. You can pick the one that meets your needs.||The staff is outstanding; they will go the extramile to make sure you feel at home. The chef Miguel is very good; Juan will take care of every detail for you. The owner; Mr. Obregon is a great host and will try his best to let you enjoy the property. You need to take a dirt road for the last two miles but the owner provides you with a very accurate map so you don't get lost and enjoy the ride. ||We decided to spend mother's day week end and get away from the crowds in Mexico City, we never expected such a great place away from the people in the city. So if you want to rest, hike, walk, kayak and enjoy fine dining and drinking in the middle of the forest, this is the...
