Cabañas Ixaya — Hotel in Veracruz

The 1st cabin on the right as you enter the yard is very nicely done. It does not have AC, but in October, it was comfortable with a fan that was provided.

Andres is an excellent host, and he makes an awesome pizza. Him and his wife will chat with you, and that is so much appreciated, especially if you are traveling solo.

There is limited wifi, but if you are getting away from a hectic online life, it won't be an issue then. There is coverage from the national telephone provider.

There was a pretty severe thunderstorm during the night, and it was a pleasure to hear the rain beating on the metal roof, reminded me of my years growing up in Guyana. Amazing tho, there was no pools of water on the dirt road to the property in the morning. The soil had terrific absorbing properties.

More amazing is to wake up in the morning and hear all the birds wake up too, including the neighbors' roosters whixh were trying to wake up the sun from at least 4 am!

As jungle cabanas these are well worth going to. The host is also a guide who offers tours and I would definitely recommend coordinating with him to go on one. Accomodations are comfortable. Before you go know that food options may be limited depending on the season but you can bring food to cook there or call for a motorcab to take you about 4-5km away to the closest restaurant if you didn't drive yourself. Cutest jungle huts/cabañas! We had a really good time here, eventhough it rained a whole lot. We loved being outside all the time, the cooking area js really well equipped and useful to make your own meals. Also eat a night with the food from Blanca and Andres though! They will make you YUMMY food 🙏🏻 The area js just so stunning, we heard scarlet macaws, saw many birds and beautiful jungle trees.
