Completely met our expectations!! If you are looking for American version of 5 star you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a low key place to completely relax and the friendliness staff ever, this is it. |I met my husband in Merida after his fishing trip in Campeche and we took a $50 taxi to get there. |Only all inclusive within 45 min of Mérida | Try and book when a cruise ship excursion is NOT visiting (contact the resort- it was Tuesdays and Thursdays when we were there and we stayed Friday- Tuesday AM) |Mathia , the dining captain, was awesome and took care of us. He made sure we had coffee and pastries early on the day we left and had box lunches packed for us! He’s special- get to know him. |The front desk staff were friendly and responsive |* This not a “lay on the beach” kind of beach, but the seashells are amazing and you can walk a very long way when the tide is out! There are areas w sand and lounge chairs close to ocean on the property. |The pool was very clean| We had a morning with no hot water but it was fixed very quickly |* No gym. We played tennis instead. (Bring your own tennis rackets and balls - they have them but they are tired. )|* Very few Americans! Mostly Mexican families -loved that. |Food was ample and very good and changed enough for a long weekend. |There is only one dining room but there is an option to eat at pool bar during the day |Drinks are weak but they are happy to pour doubles!! | 10 min cab ride to a restaurant nearby. Front desk can recommend.|You can also get to Progresso easily for an outing. We ran out of time. |Don’t let the remote bumpy dirt road near the resort scare you—there really is this beautiful lobby and beautiful people waiting for you!! |WE HOPE...
Read moreBeautiful stay. We must have been there at the very lowest peak of season because it was almost a ghost town with as few as 16 guests. There were at least as many staff as guests over a couple days. A lot of stone and Masonry make up a beautiful Resort grounds. The food was very good and the rooms where nice and modern though could use a little bit of renovation. The air conditioning worked very well. Beautiful large pool but it does not have a swim up bar. There is a bar directly next to it so it's not a big deal. With so few people staying at this time they obviously cut back on services and this included a lack of any kind of evening or daytime activities and limited food choices. The location is not in walking distance to any shops or restaurants though there is a newly-opened restaurant in a partially-completed resort within a short walk. You will want to either get a taxi or schedule an Uber or rent a car if you want to get outside of the resort. The beaches in this region are not as nice as say Riviera Maya. They are narrower and a rosin is much more common. Seaweed is in abundance but the resort keeps their section of Beach in very good shape. This is also a Convention Center but there were no activities which made this more of like being at a massive private billionaires greed home with almost individual attention. I can tell the resort has much more to offer guests throughout their stay when there is a normal contingent of them. It's easy to see this area is being primed for massive development and there are a lot of new large resort and condominium...
Read morehonestly don't know how this hotel has any stars much less three. Don't let yourself be fooled by the photos because it doesn't look like that anymore. The driver there told us two hurricanes had passed through there and it looks like it. There's debris still in places of the hotel and there's barely any beach. The food is really bad, cold flavorless pasta, burnt meat, and barely six different dishes. The only good thing is that the vegetables and fruit is nice and fresh. It's also really dirty. The towels everywhere were disgusting. The ones in my room had yellow and brown sports. And the ones by the pools too. One "clean" towel that was given to us had, what I really hope was cake, smeared on it. And the replacement to that had yellow spots. We had no tissues in the room, and our phone didn't work. There wasn't also an infirmary. And when I asked for aspirin, they told me they didn't have any nor anything similar. And considering it's pretty far away from a hospital or a pharmacy, it's really a big issue. And the lock in our door was broken, which was really concerning especially since we were all girls. The only good thing I can mention is that the bed sheets were clean and the room, and the people working there were so nice and attentive....
