Beautiful location ruined by dishonesty and poor management
We stayed at Juulchin Resort in Terelj for what was meant to be a peaceful weekend in one of their deluxe gers, but it turned into a frustrating experience from the moment we arrived. We had confirmed our booking several times, yet were told on arrival that the gers were full and we had to stay in a hotel room instead. After nearly an hour of confusion and denial from staff, they suddenly “found” a ger and made us wait another hour to check in.
The ger itself was comfortable and nicely presented, but that was where the positives ended. The resort is poorly managed and badly communicated. There was no welcome information, no explanation of the facilities, and no sense that anyone cared whether guests were comfortable. We only discovered after checking out that the place had a rooftop terrace, a pool, and a spa.
Ordering food was another ordeal. We used the in-room QR code, assuming it meant delivery. Half an hour later were phoned in our mobile and were told we had to walk down a steep hill to collect it ourselves. The food was cold and unappealing by the time we got it, and the menu was limited compared to what was available in person.
We were also woken early by construction noise right next to the gers, which no one mentioned when we booked.
For the price, the experience was chaotic and unprofessional. Juulchin Resort trades on its beautiful location but fails completely on basic hospitality. Until they fix their management, communication, and honesty with guests, it’s not...
Read moreChose to stay at Juulchin Resort among others in Terelj, and unfortunately, it was the least value for the money despite being the most expensive. For 660,000 MNT (around $200 USD), the Ger was not ready upon arrival (we arrived two hours after normal check-in time). There was no shampoo in the room, the hairdryer blew up in my hand, and there were no chairs on the balcony. We had to pay an extra 33,000 MNT to use the sauna and jacuzzi, which must be booked in advance. The rooftop terrace and women’s jacuzzi and sauna were not functional. It seems they are charging prices typical of a fully operational resort but are not delivering on that promise. There was ongoing construction and dirt around the Gers instead of greenery. Management’s response was simply, “Sorry.” Sad to say, but I’d recommend staying elsewhere in Terelj until this place...
Read moreI booked a night at Juulchin Resort in Terelj after finishing a long trip around Mongolia, hoping for a relaxing “premium” experience. The rooms themselves were very nice and clean, and the spa was a highlight — a good way to unwind after days on the road. However, I had a very mixed experience overall. The breakfast was surprisingly disappointing for this type of resort, both in variety and quality. The check-in process also felt a bit unorganized, and there was no assistance offered with luggage, which meant dragging heavy bags up the stairs after a long journey — not exactly the relaxing arrival I was expecting. With some improvements to service and food, this place could really live up to...
