Great experience other than the water turning off at night, television is DDish service so the channels are limited and there aren't many premium channels available, the "sauna" (never saw it and I don't believe it exists) is "not in service", the movie theater room looks great but bring your own movies because their selection is very limited. We arrived their at night and their is a long walk up the hillside before arriving to the lodge. The hillside climb does have a boardwalk with lights; however, the lights were not operating and being in the countryside the nights are very dark therefore we tripped over many stairsteps that are not visible in the shadows casted by the building via the lunar light. The breakfast offered is not great by any means, however, the restaurant has great food. Every item on the menu will not be available but a limited selection from their menu is offered and what the restaurant does serve tastes great. There are cocktails on the menu but the bar does not make any cocktails; the bar is stocked with liquor so that is great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Their is wifi available in the reception lobby only if you ask for it. There is no wifi offered anywhere else on the hotel grounds other then the reception lobby. The rate was T300,000 for a regular room and T450,000 for a bigger "vip-type" room. They have a chess board in the lobby and a small selection of books. Almost no cellphone signal at this location. The hotel provided us with extra blankets. You could also setup horse riding at the reception.
If your planning to visit/stay here: -bring a flash light -bring your own water, liquor /beer -bring snacks as the kitchen closes at 8:30pm -Bring your own wifi -download your music and entertainment on a laptop and connect it to the television via hdmi cable
If you want to disconnect from the world for a while this would be the place to go but don't expect 5 star service here or a dip in a hot tub or sauna/spa experience. This place is more of a cabin-style lodging away from everything that's...
Read moreif you wish to observe classic mongolian incompetency and fraudulent business practice, this is the place to go.
we booked their best room which has lukewarm water and unstable water pressure. and every electrical equipment needed to get replugged ‘after’ we checked in. some windows didn’t work and conversation from ground floor where staff seems to reside was loud enough to not to open the windows.
we went to the restaurant only to help ourselves with the menu, napkins and the culinaries. half of the menu items were not available. and the waiter (maybe intentionally) double charged us and never got back to us even after 2 days. in my opinion, they do this routinely from unsuspecting tourists. he even expected us wait for the pos machine to print out whole day’s log, had no concept of idea that we were there to rest, not to spend an hour behind a bar counter to check receipts.
their hall to reception were under construction. told payment problem to reception only to get told that the restaurant ‘people’ are separately managed. staff came in unannounced and not knocking the door to say ‘oh, you haven’t checked out, yet?’.
manager got back to us 2 days after only to explain what the waiter was parroting and never offered any apology for inconvenience. if the call continued, he was definitely going to argue back.
after 450,000 room and 30,000 double charge for pizza, i hoped they at least had decency to...
