Motel Ribis — Hotel in Aït Melloul

We had been taken to this address instead of the hotel we had meant to be staying. The woman behind the desk said it was the right place as I questioned it. She had taken the reservation and said yes and our names and Booking. Com, it was late afternoon and needed something to eat, we went to our room and went back down to say we felt we had been dropped at the wrong hotel! she said no and checked the reservation I told her there was nothing in the motel that had been advertised so we walked around the grounds to have a look. The motel was dirty and run down with things broken. Then went back and my partner said again he don't think this was right there was no kettle as advised, she replied well you can go to the café. We went to our room and checked the website after going out for something to eat, my partner received an email from the address we had on the reservations and said they would come pick us up, from just around the corner. By this time the lady had gone home and the man behind the desk didn't speak English. He got the lady on the phone she was insisting we pay the full night for the room we told the man she was a wear the address was wrong she told us it was right from Booking .com and we were in the correct place. The man stopped talking to me and was now only talking to the man from the correct accommodation in French. We had become very tired and needed to rest I said my partner id disabled and we would sort it out with Booking .com but he insisted he needed the money now, this was appalling behaviour and our host feel responsible as my phone had not worked at the airport for him to collect us we ordered a taxi that must have got the wrong address? The woman in the accommodation then had taken advantage ,but this is the ugly face of Morocco The family we stayed with, introduced us to a Morocco with Great people. There was no water in the pool at the RIbis and it is deep, if you came around at night and fell in you would be hurt, the room was dirty and furniture, shower curtain was broken. no tea making such as a kettle in the room. This is a 2 Star Motel and therefore very basic.  We stayed one night for bed and breakfast (we had 3 rooms) at the end of October. Note! Payment is by CASH ONLY.

There was plenty of room for parking on site.  The staff were very friendly.  The rooms which were on the 1st floor, were mostly clean (I did find that one of the pillow cases was dirty).

Bathroom was clean, the shower curtain was new in each room, which also had a TV.  Each room also had a kitchen area, with kitchen sink and fridge (which did not work in 2 out of our 3 rooms).  2 out of 3 TV remote controls did not work.

Breakfast/meals were available on the site (not in the motel building).  Breakfast was nice.  Fresh bread/chocolate croissant served with butter and selection of jams, fresh orange juice, coffee.

The motel is basic and what I would expect from a 2 star motel in Morocco, but is in a good location for access to Agadir Airport, being approx 15 mins' drive mostly along a straight road, so good for those who do not want a stressful drive through Agadir immediately after arriving in Morocco.  In my personal opinion the hotel is fine for a stay of one or possibly 2 nights.  I would stay again on my next flight to Agadir before continuing my long journey...

This hotel is just south of Agadir near Ait Melloul. It's 100 metres from the road so it's not noisy. There is lots of space for parking and a nice row of trees in front. The room was large and clean, the shower and toilet were fully functional, TV and fridge provided, the evening meal was extra but good and reasonably priced. Can't comment on the breakfast that was offered as I was birding already by then so didn't partake. Didn't have time to swim so can't comment on the pool either but it looks nice. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the woman and the girl I mainly interacted with (both very nice and whose names I unfortunately forgot - not familiar enough with Moroccan names). For instance, I left my luggage there all day even after I had already checked out in the morning, they told me to contact them if I needed help elsewhere in Morocco, etc. For the very reasonable price I paid this...
