The Cannes is very basic, but is centrally located in Erfoud close to the market. The people who run it are friendly enough. A single room sets you back around £11 a night (without breakfast - there is an excellent cafe/boulangerie about 100 m away on the high street/main drag. Highly recommended), which is fair for what you get. The air-conditioning was working just fine, but my toilet didn’t flush (thus requiring the “fill the rubbish bin in the sink and do a slosh flush” that is frequently necessary in down-market hotels) and my shower wouldn’t shut off, requiring a trip downstairs to get assistance before the bathroom flooded. The wireless was patchy, sometimes working only in the lobby/restaurant, sometimes in the room, and sometimes neither. The restaurant had football playing every night we were there, the room filled with blokes watching the match on TV. If you’re into fairly loud commentary while swearing at the internet under your breath it is the place to be.
