I stayed at the hotel for approximately 2 weeks for a business trip. This was my first time in Morocco and I picked the location based on its online star rating (4 star) and proximity to my place of business. Let's start with the pros. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable, water in the shower was always hot and with adequate water pressure. There is a mini fridge in the room and a safe. The rooftop/terrace area where the pool is located is nice and has a good view of the city
Cons: as is normal in most hotels pressing of garments is usually expensive and I prefer to do my own pressing. In most hotels you can request for an iron box and ironing board however they do not allow for this here. Food from outside is also not allowed even if you're a guest which in the numerous hotels I have stayed in has never been a problem, but it is here. So if you don't like what the menu has to offer you'd better eat your meals outside before going to your room. Room service is indicated to run from 12:00hrs to 2300 hrs however, in reality by 10:30pm there's a chance they will not pick up your call and you may be left high and dry with a grumbling stomach. This did not happen to me but it did with my colleagues. On one occasion I ordered for room service before 11pm (after some patient waiting for someone to pick up my call) and I was informed the kitchen was closed, however they apparently granted me an exception and delivered the food. There doesn't seem to be a good appreciation of customer service, customer satisfaction or quality control. The food is mediocre and is vastly inconsistent. You can order the same thing every day however what you get will vary. On some days you may get toiletries (e.g. soap and shampoo) and on some days not. The air-conditioning somewhat worked in the room. On one occasion I put an up unopened packet of juice in the fridge which I later found had been opened. Bad.
All in all I think the rooms are nice however the service leaves a lot to be desired. I'd give the rooms and facilities a 4 star rating but the service is no more...
Read moreWe arrived at 8:30pm from Sweden and was told our booking was canceled because we arrived after 6pm (I think) I asked the receptionist to look at my booking confirmation that included our arrival time which was between 8-9pm, the woman never looked at the confirmation I brought and told us repeatedly that the hotel was full booked and that she might could get us into another sister hotel. I became really annoyed since we had a lot of packing (we were gonna stay there 2 weeks), it was dark outside and we were very tired and I told her that I would not book another hotel and that this was their responsibility. I sat down in the lobby and my husband tried to calm me down since i was crying. Don’t think I am a spoiled brat that cries for nothing, but if you’ve been traveling for 2 days and you just wanna check in to feel safe and you might have to sleep outside somewhere with expensive packing, you have panic. I told her I would not leave the hotel before she fixed our room, and after 20 minutes she had a room for us, it was a family room and she said that we could stay there one night and then come back to the reception and get us the room we booked. The next day we packed our stuff and went to the reception to change room but they old us we had to stay in the family room for another 2 nights and they would let us know when to change room again. We went back for another 2 nights and never heard from the staff, we checked out after 4 nights and went to Marrakech instead. Never gonna stay there again. The room was nice, clean and we had a balcony. The Butler was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was alright. They also had a pool on the roof...
Read moreOverall, the room was quiet, clean & comfortable. Loved the breakfast that is worth getting up for. Enjoyed the Roof Terrace Swimming Pool area with Cocktails however, the sunbeds are positioned in the shade under a large pergola and east facing so hardly get sun on them. Downsides were, our room was not made up for us on arrival despite I booked direct with the hotel and added in the Comment box that my 16 year old son will need a separate bed. We arrived for late check in and had to wait for an extra bed. The City view room requested turned out to look over a dried up, fenced off, disused open area resembling a builders site. As our room was made up for 1, not 2 as booked, there was only one bath towel and dressing gown. Had to keep requesting towels as HouseKeeping didn't supply more than one and on one of our nights, we came back to no towels at all and had to call Reception to order. None came, so we had to use the one towelling dressing gown. We used the gym which is very tiny and the main equipment was broken so only loose weights and running machine working. One bench, that's it. WARNING: Do not under any circumstances use the Euronet ATM that the hotel agrees to host in the Reception lobby. The machine does not give out the cash transcation and the hotel can't do anything to help. Euronet do nothing to help either. We have had to raise a dispute with our Bank and are yet to be refunded Kenzi chain should stop business with Euronet. On a plus, the hotel is positioned beside a Tram stop so getting into central Casablanca is easy, just be sure to have coins for the machine. Homely hotel, but I would rate it as...
