This is the newest and one of the best hotels in Tangier. I stayed here in February for 11 days and enjoyed every moment. The experience is like a 5 Star hotel. |Below are some of the attributes that make this hotel exceptional. |Staff – I have to say that the staff of Ben Batouta are the nicest you will ever meet in a hotel.|Reception- Yasin ( Manager ) , Ali and Eysaam – Always greet you with a smile and happy to help with anything you need. Beautiful seating and waiting area in the entrance by the reception.|Housekeeping – Youssef, Sukayna and the room service team ensure everything is super clean. |Rooms – Excellent rooms with nice décor, clean bathrooms and lovely beds. Good views of the garden.|Breakfast – Anouar always making sure you have everything you need. Ilyas the Chef always prepares delicious hot snacks for breakfast. |Location – Hotel Ben Batouta is a bit far from the town centre but is near the Ibn Batouta airport.|There is a Shell petrol station next to the hotel which sells snacks as well as having an onsite café where you can have lunch ( Tajines).|You could walk to the nearest small town of Boukhalef which has cafes, restaurants and retail shops. Turn left from the hotel and walk for 15 minutes. You can easily catch a bus or take a green taxi from there to the town centre. The bus fare is only 4 Dirhams. Green Petit taxi costs about 40 Dirhams. |The hotel has a dedicated and trusted taxi service. - Jamal - +212 6 55 17 98 78. Read moreMy second visit this year. Once again I stayed for 10 days in October. Although some of the staff members have changed the experience was the same as my last visit in February. This hotel is now one year old and they have maintained the high level of service and hospitality I experienced on my last visit.|In my opinion their biggest asset is the staff members who make your stay so stress free. From the moment you arrive to the day you leave they make sure you have everything you need.|Reception – Aissam in Reservations with Hanane, Raoia, Reda and Ali. Always greet you with a smile and happy to help with anything you need. Always happy to have a chat with you.|Breakfast – there is a new team and the variety of food is excellent. Othmar and Mohamed always asking if everything was satisfactory.|Housekeeping – Umaima and Mehdi are the new members and very friendly. |The only thing in my opinion the hotel needs to address is the Television Channels.|There are only 10 channels – 3 are cartoons, 2 are football showing Oujda Football teams, 1 is a French Parliament ( in case you can’t sleep ) , 2 are Turkish dramas and the other 2 are something useless in French. |Every hotel needs a news channel in English - not in French. Having said that bring your iPad so you can log on to the internet to check up on the latest news as well as the weather forecasts.|But the hotel still remains one of the best in Tanger. |A Big Shukran...

While the AC was not available (centrally turned off), even the fan was not working and the room was hot. The hotel is near a highway and the airport, so leaving the window open is not a viable option.
Our room door did not lock. Anyone could open it without a card.
We ordered a cab to transfer us to the airport early in the morning. Someone came knocking heavily on our room door at 5 AM a day before the scheduled date.
The dinner was not worth its expensive price. For instance, the tajines are not served with any veggies, just meat. The server was also very unhelpful and unprofessional.
After mentioning all of the above to the hotel staff, they simply did not assume their responsibility and try to improve our experience, and instead shifted the blame on...
