Kasbah Tissint — Hotel in caïdat d' Tissinnt قيادة تسينت

We've been here 1 night and judge this hotel as very poor value for money. The rooms itself are 'okay' although in our room the hot water was broken. Quite strange for a hotel that looks very new, I guess less than 1 year old. ||What bothers most is the very uninterested attitude from the very young staff, they look (and act) like teenage schoolboys, more interested in walking around with the phones and baseball caps instead of making clients feel at home. ||Breakfast was very average and on top of all the bread seemed and felt like it was from yesteryear. |Concerning dinner: it was that we explicitly asked for something different than the good old vegetable tagine otherwise this would have been your usual dish as well. ||All in all, the hotel/building has plenty of opportunities, but the way guests are treated can be much much better! This place is a total gold mine I turned up with a flat bicycle tyre posibily ending my tour of southern Morocco it was late in the day and hotel was full. Hassan could see I was in trouble and made a room for me in what I suspect was staff quarters behind the reception desk.. then proceeded to give me no end of help sourcing a new tyre from Marrakesh.. totally gone above and beyond.. not to mention the food is amazing swimming pool is great decore is charming.. lovely views of the river stones throw from the waterfall.. its clean they change the sheets for each new guest which often doesn't happen in Morocco.... Bevor ich zum Hotel etwas sage muss ich erst über Tissint sprechen. Dies war einst eine reiche Oase, eine wichtige Karawanenstation. Doch Trockenheit hat dies zunichte gemacht und seitdem fristet Tissint ein trauriges Dasein. Dabei liegt es in einer einzigartig schönen Landschaft und ist berühmt für seine Kaskaden, es würde mehr Besucher verdienen. Im 20. Jahrhundert lebte hier einige Zeit der berühmte Franzose Charles de Foucault und das Haus eines reichen jüdischen Kaufmanns, in dem er wohnte, ist zwar Ruine, aber mit seinen Innendekorationen unbedingt sehenswert. Doch das verschlafene Tissint hatte nie einen Ansatz von Tourismus und man konnte das Haus nur unter Schwierigkeiten besichtigen.||All dies hat sich nun geändert durch das neue Hotel Kasbah Tissint. 14 Zimmer liegen um einen Pool und das Restaurant. Auf dem großen Parkplatz sind Fahrzeuge sicher untergebracht. Die Zimmer sind groß, noch etwas karg eingerichtet, aber das Bad ist grandios mit einer heißen Dusche in starkem Strahl, genau das, was man nach einer staubigen Wüstenfahrt braucht. Auch die Klimaanlage geht, wenn ich sie Anfang März auch nicht gebraucht habe. Wichtig war aber der nette Empfang an der Rezeption durch Mohammed. Auch der Kellner heißt Mohammed und der war es dann, der mich zu dem Foucauld-Haus gebracht hat. Dieser Stopp in Tissint war sehr interessant und ich werde ganz sicher noch einmal für etwas...
