Short: Clean rooms with everything you need Amazing food (dinner and breakfast) Best host (really lovely family) English is no problem Great view! Highly recommandable (a little bit outside of Midelt but just follow the yellows sights - they will guide you - and yes the last part seems to be a little bit offroad but we handled it with a fiat punto - go for it! It's worth it)
Long: We stayed for one night at this beautiful kasbah and i wish we would have planned more time in Midelt to have some more nights to stay. If you decide to stay there you won't be a customer of a hotel - you will be a guest of a open minded und lovely family. Mustafa and his wonderful family(wife and two sons) really made us feel like home.
We arrived in the dark and we were freezed. Our room was already heated with a gas-heater so we felt instantly comfortable. It was a nice room with everything you needed (even a hairdryer which is not a self-evidence) As usual during winter in marroko we got additional blankets so we did not freeze while sleeping. We had a hot shower in the evening (heated up by solar-energy).
The rooms are very clean. Some rooms (shower, toilette and big room in the middle of the house) were not heated - which does not mean they are freezing cold. The rooms where we spend time for dining and sleeping were heated. The bed was really comfortable - we slept really good!
The food is amazing! Best dinner and breakfast ever!
Best thing to know: Mustafa made everything himself - and if i say everything i mean it - the beds, lamps even the house! He really takes care of the things he do and wants to make this world a better place. So that is why he has an ecolodge and no wannabe 5 stars hotel with golf, spa and pool.
We are thankful to meet such heartwarming persons and we would come back anytime! Highly...
Read moreWe arrived in September for a one night stay after driving 4 hours from the Sahara. As soon as we arrived the owner saw I had booked and paid with Expedia. He started to shake his head and advised that Expedia had not paid him for some previous bookings and the only way he would allow us to stay was to pay him directly and get a refund from Expedia! I refused to do this without contacting Expedia - after 3 attempts with Expedia Virtual Assistant, I managed to get someone to call him - but he then assumed to not understand them although his English seemed OK to me. I asked to speak to Expedia who finally gave me a refund but the owner's attitude had discussed me as he did not seem interested in helping at all - just wanted to be paid again. We left and then drove another 3 1/2 hours to the hotel in Fes and managed to get an extra night. No - I would not recommend this...
Read moreOnly stayed one night and in general it was just amazing - lovely to spend a night with a lovely family - Mustafa was so welcoming and generous and his wife and two sons just a pleasure to be around (especially Joseph, a real cheeky little chappy). Only a small house but this can be feast not famine when you're on the road. Wonderful dinner and breakfast and lots of it. Rooms were generally comfortable and very clean (saw them take everyone out of the rooms and clean every inch of the room and furniture) but could do with a fan - slept with windows open but still not warmer than I find comfortable. Mustafa has great plans to increase room numbers and facilities, so I would be very interested to go back in a few years to see...
