Maison D'hote Chez La Famille — Hotel in caïdat d'Aït Sedrate Jbel

The description and pictures of the hotel were not what I experienced. I was taken off the street and put in a horrible room separate from the rest of the hotel. I was not shown any of the colourful communal areas in the pictures, or even the reception area - just my ugly room almost directly off the street and the adjoining terrace which was completely bare, also unlike the pictures in the description. The whole experience was impersonal to tell the truth. Later I decided to eat at a restaurant in the local area so went by car to find one at 8pm. There was no one around to talk to to arrange access for my return and it took much longer than I expected to find somewhere open, so unexpectantly I did not get back until 10pm. The hotel was locked and the only way to get access was to hammer on the door very loudly for 5+ mins. They knew I was not back but presumably thought it OK to just lock me out and go to bed. The next day I asked the owner how I could get access without the same problem but he would not answer properly and refused to use any translation from English to French. In fact he could not speak any English at all, yet the description clealy states "we speak English". Finally he seemed to think it was OK to be rude to me because "his other customers did not have a problem". I rarely leave such a bad review, but I feel in this case the owner had become complacent and thought it OK to put me in the worst room in an otherwise empty hotel totally unlike anything in the description and then to boot disappear so there was no point of contact for me to ask questions either. We had an amazing experience! The staff is super helpful and friendly, they gave us a very nice welcome. The beds are very comfortable, the whole room was very clean. Good hot water for a good bath. It has very nice views of the town. The food was amazing. The dinner was the best tajine we have had in Morocco. The breakfast was amazing as well, lots of things, including homemade bread, classic Morocco bread, plus eggs, yougurt, jam,...

Siento dejar una opinión así, pero no quiero que nadie se sienta estafado como nosotros. Al principio estábamos encantados por conocer a Hussein y de quedarnos en su casa con nuestras dos hijas pequeñas. No nos importaba el frío ni la sobriedad porque buscamos un turismo más cercano. Pero a la hora de pagar nos cobró la cena a 37 euros para e personas!!! Lo más caro que pagamos de Marruecos!! Nuestro fallo fue no aclarar el precio antes, porque no nos importaba pagar el precio que pusiera, pero 37 euros?! Ni en la plaza de ourzazate. Y lo peor, que cuando fuimos a pedirle explicaciones, nos dijo que todo era caro y bio, con aceite de oliva ( nada cierto). Pues ahí en su cocina me encontré LA CHAQUETA DE MI HIJA, entre sus cosas. 😔 Me dijo que pensaba que era la de su hijo. También quiso estafarnos con el guía para la excursión. Que luego resultó ser un guía estupendo y profesional. Nada que ver con él. En fin, siento en el alma dejar una opinión así porque imagino que cada uno se busca la vida como puede, pero no es justo que sea a costa de gente que confía en ti. Es preferible que suba el precio y no tengamos que sentirnos...
