1/5 stars - Disappointing experience at Dar Sanae Surf||My stay at Dar Sanae Surf was a nightmare. Here's what happened:||- Flood in the room: At 2 AM, I woke up to find my feet immersed in contaminated water. My friend and I had to pull out a heavy wall unit to investigate.|- No cutting board: My friend had to cut on the counter, which was not hygienic.|- Well-used sponge: The sponge was old and should have been replaced with a new one in its original packaging for hygiene purposes.|- Heavily stained teapot: The teapot was in poor condition and should have been replaced.|- Dirty dishes and pots: I had to wash all the dishes, pots, and pans, which were not clean.|- Toilet issues: The toilet was rusted, had a low water level, and flooded. My friend had to buy a plunger to fix the issue.|- No free toiletries: Despite being advertised, there were no toiletries provided. My friend had to buy toilet paper and cleaning products.|- Fee for towels and blow dryer: We had to bring our own towels and blow dryer, as there was a fee for these amenities.|- No TV: There was no TV in the room, despite being advertised.|- New room issues: We had to move to a different room, which had a window facing a dirt road. The dust from the passing cars covered my cosmetics, and the bed was squeaky with something sharp sticking out.|- Pets: The owner's two cats were roaming around, despite the "no pets" policy. They kept scratching at our door and whining, and I had allergies, so it was a big problem. The owner should keep her cats in her own residence.|- Washing clothes: The washing machine wasn't working, despite being advertised. I had to give my clothes to the owner to wash, which I didn't want to do. When she returned them, they weren't washed properly, were creased, and were given back in a plastic bag.|- Misleading advertising: The place is not beachfront as advertised; it's on a dirt road. Parking is also an issue, with no designated parking spots nearby.|- Lack of support: The owner didn't provide any assistance or compensation for the issues we faced. We had to stay in the damp place for 30 days, which made me sick. The owner should have brought in a wet and dry vacuum to clean up the flood while we were out.|- No automatic sheet change: The owner should have automatically changed the sheets after the flood, without us having to ask.|- Poor management: The owner didn't offer to move us to a different room after the flood.|- Receipt issues: The receipt lists the accommodation as an "apartment," but the place is advertised as a guest house/hostel. More concerning is the lack of a business license number on the receipt, which is a standard requirement.|- Unclear charges: The receipt says "charges and taxes are included," but it's unclear what that means, as there was no elaboration.|- Unclear renovation: The advertisement mentions that the place is renovated, but it's unclear what that entails, as the condition of the place was poor.||It's common knowledge that when a flood occurs, the owner is responsible for compensating the guests or providing alternative accommodations. In this case, the owner failed to do so, leaving us to suffer in unhealthy conditions. The advertised rooftop terrace to watch the sunset was also a complete disappointment. Given the numerous issues and lack of accountability, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner's failure to take responsibility for the problems and provide compensation is unacceptable, especially considering she took advantage of my friend's generosity. I believe she should have provided a refund, and her failure to do so is a clear indication of poor...
Read moreOnce you've found it, it's glorious. The rooms are a very good basic, considering the location and price. Beds comfortable, owners very friendly. The view from the roof terrace is lovely across to one of the several beaches in the close proximity. These beaches include surfing (with several schools), sunbathing, horse riding, buggy riding, cafes, coffee places - but all nice and low-key. Came in 2024 for one week, came back in...
Read moregreat place to stay, lovely family! The rooms were super clean and the balcony was offering nice views. The breakfast was really good, with plenty of options, and the food throughout the day was tasty too. Plus, the location was perfect – close to the beach and also near Tamraghat and Awrir for shopping. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend it.
location: right next to Yozi Fitness...
