I booked a 7-day stay in a private room. After comparing different options, I felt this one offered great value for money. The surf camp is located in Tamraght village, about a 15-minute walk to the beach. This small town is full of adorable cats and dogs.
The surf camp has around three shared dorms and one private room (not entirely sure), along with three bathrooms. My private room was on the lower level of the attic dining room, and it had a double bed. On the first night, I felt a bit cold, but the next day, Julia brought me a thick, cozy blanket, which was really sweet of her. 🥹 Worth mentioning, both the private and shared rooms are beautifully decorated and clean, making the entire stay feel very comfortable. My favorite spot was the rooftop dining room and terrace, which was perfect for relaxing and clearing my mind in the mornings and evenings.
My flight arrived late at night, but to my surprise, the hostess Julia saved a meal for me, which I really appreciated!! The food here is also great—lunch is usually at the beach, while breakfast and dinner are at the surf camp. I was always well-fed and satisfied. One of my favorite things was that every morning, they provided tea, coffee, and milk.
Daily Schedule • After breakfast, we leave for the beach around 10 AM. • We surf until noon, then have lunch at the beach. • After lunch, there’s some relaxing sunbathing, followed by a free practice surf session. • Around 4 PM, we head back to the camp. • Dinner is at 8:30 PM, so from 4 PM to dinner, we have free time. I used this time to go horse riding.
As for the training, our instructor Simo was super friendly and patient. Among the 5-6 people in my group, about half were beginners, and he helped correct our techniques. Since I kept doing things wrong in the water, he called me to the shore for practice multiple times. 😂
Besides surfing, one afternoon we also went to watch a local surf competition and tried sandboarding on the dunes (not sure if that’s the correct name 🤔). We also had tea and snacks while watching a stunning sunset over the dunes. If you have any specific places you want to visit or activities you want to try, the staff are more than happy to help organize them. And there is a chance to upgrade it into group outings! 🏜️

Read moreStaying with Let Us Surf was way better than anything I imagined it to be! Mounir and Julia are very personable and accomodating hosts, that make you feel very welcome in the house and like nothing is too much trouble. They were very flexible with our plan changes throughout the week, and were able to sort transport to and from the airport and Agadir.
The food was all home-made Moroccan cuisine cooked by Mounir's Mum and Auntie, and was consistently better than the food we were eating out in the restaurants.
There were a range of surfing abilities and experience levels within the group, but Mounir and Khalid catered to everybody really well. Everyone advanced significantly throughout the week and they were drip feeding the appropriate surf coaching to us all. Also, there is no beating the local knowledge of the waves of Mounir. He often navigated us to much better waves and emptier beaches.
Additionally, we were to Mounir's cousin's wedding, which was a wild cultural experience and well above and beyond the effort that they needed to go to for us. We had a brilliant time there.
Thanks again to all those who hosted us. We had a really great time. I'd recommend this to...
Read moreUser I highly recommend this surfing place in Maroko, Tamraght for everyone, if you are traveling alone - don't hesitate and just try it! As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed it, time just exploded. I will definitely come back one day.
I enjoyed this trip so much! The food was fantastic - big compliments to Mounir's mother (5 Michelin stars chef), every morning delicious pancakes, cakes, fresh bread and everything that was needed to start the day strongly, packed lunch on the beach, so we could go back to the ocean after, and delicious different kind of tajin's for the dinner.
I am also super happy about the surfing experience and all the tips Khalid, Mounir and Julia gave me! When I came I was a complete beginner, who had never tried surfing. The second day Khalid helped me to catch green waves and I was improving every day, catching more and more good waves!
The room was everything that I needed, a beautiful terrace to the ocean, the perfect place to meet others and explore the stars. Clean, tidy place!
Also, very happy about meeting all other inspiring people!
Don't hesitate and just try it yourself, even if you are traveling alone or...
