Although you drive through a gated palm tree lined entrance that’s where perfection ends. This was a truly awful place to stay!||As you leave reception, you enter the pool area which is rather nice and well maintained, with plenty of seating for visiting tourists (and there are a lot of visiting tourists). A single pool, it’s clean and tidy. The water was very cold though.||Rooms are away from the main building in Butlins style blocks. The blocks are tatty and in desperate need of an update. Ours had water stains down the side of the building from an historic water leak. There didn’t appear to be a great deal of lighting in the grounds either so finding your way or key in the lock without iPhone torch was almost impossible. And don’t forget to press the button by the door to activate your power (found that out ourselves).||The bedroom was very basic; again in desperate need of repair and update. Beds are comfy but creaky. ||Although air con is provided; it switches off halfway through the night as the power to the room shuts off (common in sub Saharan areas apparently). A TV is provided, but there are no English speaking programmes (not even Sky news) so you can’t watch it. Also worth noting, that the hotel staff don’t really speak English so communication can be difficult. ||The bathroom is desperately in need of decoration and updating, although functional. The hotel is very noisey; guests tend not to care about others and if you’re unlucky enough to have a bedroom just off pool (as we did); it can be very noisey until the early hours.||The food is truly awful. Very little choice, not replenished in a timely manner (at busy times) and the seating arrangements in the dining area - confusing! Not a piece of fruit in sight, ‘Paw Patrol’ fromage frais and the blandest Cous Cous I’ve ever eaten. Dining staff are surly and not really helpful, more authoritarian; certainly don’t make you feel valued or welcome. More of a ‘grab a quick bite and leave’ kind of place.||The hotel does have a bar (didn’t partake) and WiFi (although WiFi fails if too much ‘traffic’ to get on). Too many tourists in too small a space made this feel more of a ‘transit lounge’ than a comfortable nights rest.||Not recommended, and certainly the worst on the list for Voyage Prive. This is certainly the ‘no frills’ hotel...

Really wanted to give 2.5 stars but due to COVID I'm going to give them some benefit of the doubt.

Pros: Pool is awesome! Very friendly & accommodating staff Beautiful design & location

Cons: Many bugs in the rooms. I know this is the desert, but there were ants all over and it was abnormal Dirty pool that turned my swimsuit neon green Shelf in the shower fell out of the wall when I put my towel on it Water temp fluctuated heavily. I mean, burning my skin hot then freezing cold a second later.

Other notes: No alcohol on site Water was shut off to the hotel randomly at one point. I think the entire region experienced this though, so it's not the hotels fault. No fridges in some of the rooms, meaning nothing but warm/hot water bottles.

All in all, this would not be my top recommendation for anyone. It was a fine stay for 2 nights, but was difficult and a bit frustrating. It may...

Great location and decent food. The owner was very nice and friendly and brought us mint tea. Someone walked into our tents in the middle of the night but luckily we woke up before they took anything. Another person from our group was in one of the rooms but the door lock was broken and they were stuck for 1.5 hours. Also they had some very loud music which took away the serenity land peace of the desert.
