Dar Assarou is more than just a guesthouse — it’s a peaceful mountain retreat offering genuine hospitality, breathtaking scenery, and a chance to slow down and connect with Moroccan culture.||Our host, Mohamed, was incredibly gracious and made our stay truly memorable. He personally arranged a guided walk up the mountain to a series of beautiful waterfalls, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The trail was peaceful, lined with walnut trees and views of snow-capped peaks — a perfect introduction to the beauty of the High Atlas.||Later, Mohamed also organized a tajine cooking class for us with a local chef who specialized in traditional Berber cuisine. It was hands-on, informative, and a lot of fun — we learned the secrets of layering spices, cooking over coals, and the art of slow-cooking the perfect lamb tajine. I had the pleasure of staying at Riad Dar Assarou in Imlil, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had. The location is simply breathtaking—nestled in the mountains with stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and fresh mountain air that rejuvenates your soul.

The riad itself is beautifully designed, clean, and comfortable, with a warm, authentic Moroccan atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, and offered everything needed for a relaxing stay.

But what truly made this stay exceptional was the incredible hospitality of the entire staff. Every person we encountered was kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Mr. Hassan, who went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. His kindness, local knowledge, and attention to detail were outstanding. Whether it was organizing hikes, preparing delicious meals, or simply checking in to ensure everything was perfect—he treated us like family.
