We were originally supposed to be at the Kasbah du Toubkal but Covid happened and the earthquake… so the team were good enough to suggest this. It’s their sister property and from what I can gather, just as good (we snuck a peak at the Kasbah while they were rebuilding). Consider this a boutique hotel. The grounds aren’t as expansive (you won’t get the Kasbah’s beautiful gardens) and that’s ok. The views are just as stunning on the terrace / from your rooms. Rooms and toilets are massive. Ours came with a huge tub so perfect for a warm soak after a long hike. Toiletries are basic - you are given a small bar of soap so bring what you need. There’s wifi and the mobile signal is surprisingly strong. But what really makes the place aside from the good food (that chicken tajine with the preserved lemons is yums!) is that warm Berber hospitality - evident from the time you arrive, until you leave. Service is informal but attentive and very friendly. The majority of the staff speak basic English so just be a little patient. By the end of our stay, they started to tease/joke with us and that was lovely. We truly felt so welcomed by everyone. Special place,...

Read moreWe stayed here pre- and post- ascent of mount Toubkal. We left our excess luggage in the hotel and they were really accommodating about this. ||Evening meals cost €15 per person for soup, a tagine and fruit for dessert. It was all delicious and just what we needed after a couple of days hard trekking. ||Our room was massive, a little cold but there’s plenty of extra blankets in the cupboard to put on the bed. ||We didn’t run out of hot water at all which was great. The shower is over the bath and you have to just hold it (there’s no way to attach it to the wall) which is a little annoying but that was our only grumble. ||WiFi is in the main area of the hotel but not in the rooms. I think this is fine as it makes you relax and speak but If you have teenagers with you they may be less understanding. ||We also asked the hotel to arrange a taxi back to Marrakech for us which they did with ease. It even involved a 10min walk to the village with our luggage on a mule which turned out to be a lovely unexpected...
