We (3 early 20's female travellers) stayed at Maison Boutchrafine for one night as part of our 6 day Morocco tour with Enchanted Morocco Tours and it has got to be one of the most memorable parts of our whole trip.||||The whole place was amazing in every single way - the view to the desert, the lounge area with comfy cuisines and a large pool, the beautifully painted blue kitchen, the comfortable bed and shower, the food and of course Hassan. Hassan!! He's the owner of Maison Boutchrafine and he is such a lovely, welcoming and fun personality. ||||Hassan is an amazing cook and he served us the most delicious dishes for dinner and breakfast, alongside with some quality Moroccan tea and coffee (not without some cheeky tea pot switching tricks first!). He made us feel very at home, and for that reason, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather than at a guest house.||||Honestly, you will be missing out on a big part of the Sahara dessert experience if you don't get to stay at Hassan's beautiful home.||||Hassan - thank you so much for having us and...
Read moreWe were looking for an authentic experience in Morocco but nothing prepared us for Maison Boutchrafine. Hassan, the owner has hand built the entire compound over the years. He is an artist, chef and diplomat. If, it was not for him, I probably would have not stayed and missed out on an amazing experience. I am a city girl, a luxury seeking princess, never been camping in my life and I fell in love with the desert here. Solar panels provide electricity during the day and a generator at night. We did not use the shower (no hot water) since it was December and cool. There was no heat in the room because the buildings were designed to withstand the relentless desert heat for 8 months of the year. Gratefully, the toilets are modern. The meals that came out of his kitchen were absolutely delicious. Granted, the decor is not everyone's cup of tea but that is what made is so special. Hassan's unique decorating touches are inspirational. If, you want to live like a Berber in the desert, this is the place to go. I wish Hassan all the success in the world as he has created a...
Read moreWe stopped here on our tour with Sahara Tours 4x4. At first, we pulled off the main road toward what looked like a deserted building (was slightly terrified since I didn't know where we were going...). But oh boy, were we in for a surprise! The restaurant was so homey and you could see a beautiful pool just outside overlooking the desert. I'm sure it's a great place to stay on the way to the Sahara. ||||Our host, the owner, was so friendly and inviting. He served us the most AMAZING food we had in all our time in Morocco. Each dish that came out was better than the last! ||||Can't recommend this place enough - and the owner was so kind to even email the recipe to one of his dishes that I loved. Such a great...
