I came here whilst I was on a 3-man motorcycle trip a cross Morocco, last November (2024). I had never been anywhere like this before, it was really amazing. I had never ridden a motorbike on sand before, I found it was a bit challenging to reach the camp from the main road because I am not experienced, but once I got there our hosts were ready to receive us and help us get settled in and stay cool. They were generous and helpful at all times, and I enjoyed talking to them. We had an amazing time going for a ride on their quad bikes across the dunes (it was really one of the most fun things I've ever done) and our guide taught us about the people that live in the area. It's an incredible place to sit and enjoy the view, during the day or at night. At night you can see distant lights crossing up and down the dunes, vehicles and camper vans making their way across the sand. Our hosts made us some very delicious food, then we sat round the camp fire and they played us music and sang songs to us. We all had a good discussion about football, watched Madrid vs Barcelona on my friends phone. I loved talking to the people who worked there, they made our stay very special. I recommend staying...
Read moreThis is our second visit to Merzouga Activities Camp- both times have been with our campervan, driven from Norway to Morocco:)
Ibrahim is a wonderful host, so friendly, helpful and with a great sense of humour. The location right at the stunning red sand dunes is beautiful, with iron wrought chairs and tables outside the dinner tent and the sleeping tents, iron and clay lanterns and palms, olive trees and other plants carefully tended to in the garden in the midst of the tents. A coffee or a mint tea at the table in the dunes at the end of the camp is something you won’t forget easily! Ibrahim and his family will arrange all kinds of trips and excursions, and happily help you should you require it: whether it’s with a rental car company or making bookings, you feel you can ask him anything.
We spent our days enjoying the views and the food, walking in the dunes and riding their dromedaries out for sunset (last time we went for sunrise) and sitting by the fire pit in the evenings gazing at the stars in between drumming and singing.
As beautiful as the location is, it’s the people who made us return- thank you for having...
Read moreWe recently spent 2 nights in Merzouga and we stayed 1 night in Luxury tent in the main camp and for the second night, Merzouga Activities camp organized for us a more remote camp in the dunes, where we went on the camels. I was extremely happy with their service overall, they were super responsive on whatsapp and wrote very clearly all the information. Prices are more than fair, the food they served us in both camps was delicious and healthy. On the top of that, the camp is easily accessible by car, so there is no scam as in other camps where you pay for the night and then you realize you have to pay 3x the price to get there by 4x4. The rest of the camps in Merzouga are anyway at the edge of the dunes, just without road. But most of the camps are close to each other anyway, so if you have your own car, it is much better to stay here and then if you like to go to the dunes, book a "wild" camp for a night. It was very quiet and nice when we went there. Overall this was great experience in Merzouga. Special thanks to Ali and Ibrahim for making this whole experience smooth...
