Incredible location for glamping! As others have noted, the camp is right on the edge of the dunes, not in the desert itself, but you quickly forget the distinction. The camel ride into camp was so much fun and offered a ton of photo ops! We arrived and had time to get into the dunes and enjoy them before watching sunset from the top of one.
The tents themselves are incredible, with showers, toilets, electricity, big beds that were meticulously clean, and heating and cooling. It felt like a nice hotel room in a tent. The doors were not locked but had heavy latches that were obnoxiously loud so we felt very safe in our tent.
The most disappointing part of our visit was the food. It was average even for a tourist trap and the quantity was definitely lacking. They only gave our table of six people two servings of chicken and after both ran out did not refill them. They only served fruits for dessert and when I asked for tea told me that tea service had already ended, something that we never experienced in any other restaurant on our trip. Breakfast was better, but they served only one dish of every type at a time so they quickly ran out and you had to wait around for them to refill it. It wasn't enough to dissuade us from coming back in the future, but this is definitely not going to be a culinary highlight of your trip.
If you're looking for glamping in the dunes and don't mind some average food, I definitely would...
Read moreSuch a great way to stay right in the Sahara! Very comfortable beds and cozy tent! Hot showers! The tent was heated which was so nice during the winter months for the cold desert nights. We were able to see the stars so well at night. The food was excellent. We never had to wait for anything. Would recommend this for anyone: families, a group of friends, solo travelllers, etc. There was a Berber party at night where we got to hear the talented musicians play drums and sing. Got an opportunity to play drums ourselves! Such an immersive experience in the desert. I would totally...
Read moreOne of the best experiences I have ever had. I slept one night in Merzouga desert camp as part of a 3 days journey from Marrakech. The staff is very welcoming and the tents are very well equipped, they also have AC. After a typical Moroccan dinner we listened to Arabic music and danced with the staff around a fireplace. There you are free to walk through the desert surrounding the camp, meet new friends and interact with the staff. The morning after we had a good Moroccan breakfast and left the camp by camels. I would absolutely...
