WOW! What an an experience! I absolutely LOVED, LOVED staying at this luxury camp. The tent was divine and beautiful decorated. It was so luxurious and I couldn't believe we had electricity, hot water and wifi all at this camp! There was a big tent for the camp's restaurant and team was incredibly attentive. Every evening camel rides were included in your stay and you could watch the sunset every evening over the dunes - magical! There were some notable highlights on this trip - firstly, the tour in the 4 x 4 with Yaseen, a highly knowledgeable and articulate tour guide. We loved doing the desert tour with him and getting to see the local highlights and communities in the area. Secondly the quad-biking! This was fantastic and our guide was always taking care of us and looking back to keep an eye on us as we rode quad bikes on undulating sand dunes for the very first time. So much fun! Finally the whole camp team who every night after making us all dinner would host a party and sing songs around the camp fire. What a magical trip - thank you for your incredible Berber hospitality. ||Tip - When arriving to stay at this camp, the team will guide you to arrive at Riad Jouba in the afternoon and offer you food/ lunch there. I highly recommend you tell them and be pushy about WHEN you wish to leave for camp otherwise you could end up staying at Riad Jouba for a few hours and missing out on time in the actual camp and arriving only just in time for sunset. I heard from another family who stayed at a DIFFERENT hotel and DIFFERENT camp that they were left for several hours with no plan to get to camp and felt a bit abandoned. Riad Jouba doesn't do that but just be firm that you wish to go to camp when you do want to go unless you do want to hang around and swim in the jouba pool etc. Personally I was there to see the desert...
Read moreHad a wonderful experience on our family trip with Luxury Camp Merzouga. My mother, two aunts, and I had the Camp organize a three day adventure, departing from Marrakech. They did all the planning which was amazing, and all we had to do was enjoy!||Our driver Said picked us up and we felt instantly welcomed and in good hands. He drove us through the mountains with a few special stops that we were able to choose from, and spent the night at a great hotel (with a pool). The next day we headed to Merzouga after stopping by one gorge and the camps Riad in town to cool down in the pool (July is Hot - but manageable)! The riad greeted us with a great meal and hospitality. ||In the evening we headed into the Sahara on Camels, which was wild and so fun. Definitely an experience to remember with family! Especially getting to stop on the dunes and watch the sunset. We finally reached the gorgeous Luxury Camp nestled in the sand dunes and everyone at the camp was so warm and inviting. They cooked an amazing (and large) meal of traditional food and gave us a show with Berber music and singing by a bonfire. We ended the night stargazing and going to sleep in the gorgeous tents. Was a very special day overall!|The next day we headed out on a jeep after a delicious breakfast (you must try the Berber omelet) and saying goodbye to the hosts. Said drove us to Casablanca (which is a very long treck)… but he was amazing. Always happy, informative, and a very safe driver. We learned so much about Morocco, Berber culture, the geography of the country, and many words/ phrases. We are so very grateful for his wisdom and couldn’t have been in better hands!||Overall we absolutely loved our time and would definitely recommend doing this with your family or friends. Our only regret is that we couldn’t spend more time...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here as part of a Berber Treasures Morocco tour and just loved this camp. We felt treated like honoured guests. We were taken from the kasbah we stayed in on the edge of the Sahara dunes to the camp and stepped out onto red carpet. Our tent was spacious with carpets on the sand floor, equipped with a four-poster bed (apparently we had the most luxurious tent) and a low table with pouffees and an en-suite with toilet, basin and shower. Water pressure is low but when you want a shower, just ask for the pressure to be increased.||We had a camel ride to part way up a dune then scrambled up the top ostensibly to see the sunset but sadly the weather didn’t cooperate. A lovely ride though and amazing views. Getting on the camel was ok but the camel rising and sitting down is a bit alarming as it lurches back and then forwards, or is it v.v., but staff helped stabilise us.||We had pre-dinner nibbles at a little table on a small rise then had a beautiful four course dinner. Really delicious. One of the courses was eggplant (aubergine) tagine with tomato and cheese. My husband is not keen on eggplant but he really enjoyed this. Breakfast was at the same table.||We are so thankful we decided to do a tour that included going to the Sahara. You get a totally different experience of Morocco than if you just do the usual tourist trail of Chefchaouen, Fez, Marrakech and Casablanca. In addition even just the drive from Fez to Merzouga (the nearest village) is really interesting and the drive from Merzouga to Marrakech via Quarzazate over the High Atlas is...
