Our stay at the Pueblo Touareg Desert Camp in June was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something truly unique and amazing. Being the only guests in the camp at the end of the season created a special atmosphere of exclusivity that made our stay even more exceptional. The two brothers, Salem and Moha, who run the camp, deserve all the praise for their excellent job in creating such a remarkable experience for their guests.
What sets this camp apart from other camps in this ares is its petit size. With only six tents and no plans for expansion, it offers an intimate and personalized experience. We reached out to hosts via WhatsApp to book our stay, and from the first moment, we had zero worries. Moha picked us up from the agreed meeting point and skillfully drove us to the camp in his 4WD vehicle (if you plan to drive yourself, make sure you have a 4WD and knowledge of desert driving).
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing melon cocktail and an introduction to the fascinating Amazirgh history. In just one day at the camp, we learned more about the nomads of the region and Morocco as a whole than during our entire 18-day trip. We had countless conversations about Morocco and life in general with guys, and we felt like we had known each other for years.
The highlight of our stay was the food. Salem, who worked as a chef in Japan, prepared a sensational 4-course dinner for us in the middle of the desert. Just imagine, fine dining in such an extraordinary setting!
The proximity of the dunes allowed us to enjoy leisurely strolls during sunset and sunrise, creating breathtaking memories. After dinner, we were treated to a musical night, with the team playing drums and singing for us. They even let my husband try his hand at the drums.
The attention to detail in every aspect of our stay was remarkable. Our tent was beautifully designed, equipped with a shower and toilet—such a luxury in the desert. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-organized, leaving us with peace of mind and no worries.
But the most unforgettable part of our stay was when we were offered the opportunity to spend a night on a bed under the starry sky—an experience that will forever be etched in our memories. In the morning, we were treated to a delicious and beautifully served breakfast.
We cannot express enough how much we long to return to their little oasis in the desert someday. We wish Salem and Moha the best of luck with their lovely camp and highly recommend Pueblo Toureg Camp to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable...

Read moreLast year, we stayed around the Merzouga dunes as part of an organized tour by another operator that put us in some other desert camp. But it was so rushed and crowded, we wanted to do it right this year.||So for this trip, we asked Salem (see "The Moroccan Family" entry in TripAdvisor where I also left a review) and he set us up with Pueblo Touareg.||Man, the experience was exquisite. You'd quickly learn that no desert camps were created equal, and we are now spoiled thanks to the folks at Pueblo Touareg!||Why we loved it:|- The staff has been amazing. Moha has been extremely attentive but fun to talk with (not to be confused with the proprietor Mohammed, who stopped by from the nearby visit to greet us and did a cooking lesson with us. He is great, too!). And Abdul the chef is awesome. You will not be disappointed by his dinner and breakfast!|- The construction of the camp is much more classy than others. They are designed to blend better with the nomad style tents, yet with all the comfort and amenities inside. Other "luxury camps", which we stayed before, now look like military field bases to us :-(|- The desert camel ride at the sunset has just been EXQUISITE. Yes we've done that before on another tour, but with Pueblo Touareg, starting from the camp and having a guide who exactly knew where to take us and take GREAT pictures, the experience has been priceless!||We stayed here during Ramadan, but the folks have been super pleasant and accommodating (despite their grueling fasting regimen), and there was no disruption of services or anything. A big plus for us was that there were no other tourists for whole three days - imagine looking around the desert dunes and see no one else around (see photos) we felt like we...
