Maison D'hôtes chez Bassou — Hotel in caïdat d'Imilchil

The Bassou family were absolutely lovely to stay with! We were a group of seven international travelers passing through Agoudal on the "Monkey Run" (event by the Adventurists). We were driving tiny motorcycles across Morocco for seven days, and drove up Dades Gorge the day we stayed with them. A few of our friends fell behind after dark on the mountain road, and the family drove up looking for them to make sure they arrived safely. They went above and beyond! Once everyone arrived, the Bassou family were gracious hosts, who cooked great food, and even jammed out with some traditional Berber music at the end of the night. The kids were super cute, and Said, the owner, showed me his interesting collection of meteorites and coins that he had found. They also had ample safe parking for all of our motorcycles, and helped us find gas in the morning (in a town with no gas stations). Lovely experience with...

Definatly a 2 donkey town... But in an important route/position if your touring especially on the pistes...||Not the kind of place you'd take your loved one for a romantic getaway...||Chez bassou is fine, a basic hostal type place with off road parking...||The heating (we were there in winter) was a laughable stove in the middle of the upstairs hallway!||The rooms were basic but funcional, with extra blankets available ( we needed them!) en suite facilities.||Our evening meal and breakfast were fine.. Nothing special.||Taje a hike into the center of town ( to check out both donkeys) expect stares... Seems they rarely see whitey's like us in these parts!!!||We loved it... All part of...

Incredible hospitality. I spent over a week riding across Morocco on a 49cc and staying here was one of the highlights of this trip for me. I'll never forget the smell of the wood stove, sharing a delicious meal with other travelers from all over the world, the music, and especially the cozy night sleep I had under a pile of blankets in the cool mountain air. After fighting my bike up the Atlas mountains the whole day it was the best sleep I've ever had, and I'll be chasing that dragon for the rest of my life.

Also worth mentioning that he has a very large garage to lock up bikes or camper vans. That was a must have...
