Travelled with my family (2 adults, kids of 11 and 8). This was a stop-over for us from Fez to Merzouga, and we had wanted a nice and clean, but simple and cheap place to stay. And for this the place was just what we had wanted. We also had a nice welcome by the manager, who entertained us with nice chats etc. So considering price and value, and expectations... could give 4 "stars".||BUT the food...! We were not sure what we could find outside the guesthouse in such a small village, so we asked whether we could it at the guesthouse. This was fine and we were promised dinner at the time we had wished, so until then all good. But when we started the dinner, we saw that the maincourse which had been brought in at the same time as the started (a huge portion of cooked vegetables) was totally cold. And we talk of roast chicken and chips here... cold chips?? No, that is just not on. Well, we were kind of embarrassed to be demanding in such a small and simple place, and with the kindness of the manager (whom we still then thought was the owner) so we said nothing. But it really was not good at all. In particular when we found out the price, we were really not very happy at all: the menu was priced as any usual menu in a restaurant in Fez, or Marrakech. This for low standards and in the middle of nowhere. Very disappointed. But the most annoying thing was that kids were charged the same - and we were never asked or proposed to take just 2 or 3 menus instead of 4. More than half was left over. ||So, to stay yes, why not, if you are ready to have it quite simple. For a stopover for us no problem. But go somewhere...
Read moreThis is a good halfway house between Fez and Mezouga. I can find nothing positive to say about the town but as far as accommodation for an overnighter is concerned you won't find much better than this. ||No problems with parking outside the door, easy to get to, attentive staff who are very keen to please as this is a relatively new start up business. We ate in and the food and price were very reasonable. The breakfast in the morning was superb and as we left we were presented with a box of apples! ||The hotel can arrange 4WD tours in the vicinity but the town itself is not a...
Read moreThis tiny town is a good mid-way point between Fez and Merzouga. There is one little strip with restaurants and prices there are unbelievably low for what you are getting! For example, a tajin was only 20 MAD! So highly recommend for an overnight stay or even just a stopover. ||||The hotel is pretty simple, but the room has everything you may need - hot shower, TV (lots of channels, but mostly in Arabic, no English channels), heating (important in winter!), great...
