We stumbled upon Kasbah Rayane at the very last minute and booked it without checking any reviews. We weren’t looking for anything fancy, just a place to rest for the night. However, what we experienced far exceeded all our expectations. Even though we arrived very late, the staff welcomed us warmly and went out of their way to reopen the kitchen and prepare a full dinner for us at 11 PM. To be completely honest, it turned out to be the best meal we had during our entire 10-day journey through Morocco.
Being Moroccan myself, I know what real tajine should taste like, and I can confidently say that the one we had here was exceptional. The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced, and the tea they served was the best I’ve had in years. The culinary experience alone would have made the visit worthwhile, but the hospitality of the staff truly made it unforgettable.
El Houcine, Loubna, and the rest of the team, whose names I sadly can’t recall, were all incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. Their warmth and genuine care stood out and turned what could have been just another night’s stay into a highlight of our trip.
The room itself was a delight. It was spacious, beautifully decorated in authentic Berber style, with a large and very comfortable bed. The hot water worked perfectly, and everything was spotlessly clean. The setting of the kasbah is also remarkable. The night sky was absolutely magical; the peaceful atmosphere allowed me to unwind completely. I stayed up until 5 AM just marveling at the stars. It was one of those rare, serene moments that you remember forever.
The location of the kasbah is another advantage, as it’s conveniently close to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Overall, Kasbah Rayane is not just a place to stay. It’s an experience of Moroccan hospitality, culture, and authentic flavors. From the incredible food to the warm and friendly team, everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for more than just a hotel. It truly felt like a home away from home. This stay was, without a doubt, one of the best parts of our journey...
Read moreBeautiful renovated traditional Kasbah in quiet location but close to Ait Ben Haddou and Ourzazatte. Depending on the season it would be useful to come with a 4x4 as we were unable to cross the river with our small rental car. However, it is possible to park on the other side of the river and staff will be more than happy to pick you up and drop you off. They were all very friendly and the dinner they served was delicious. Our room was nicely decorated but a bit crowded with an extra bed in it for the kids. There was a lovely inside courtyard with a fountain and an outside courtyard with a small pool. Nice for the kids but too cold for me as it wasn't heated. The only thing that could be improved was the breakfast which could have included a few more Moroccan pancakes and maybe some brown bread, fresh fruit or eggs (although I heard other guest saying there was some issue with supply trucks being unable to reach the place at the time). I also didn't like that during our second evening there they suddenly turned on some very loud music which stayed on until quite late (when kids already wanted to sleep), others might find this enjoyable but I prefer the quiet of nature at a place like this (and...
