Ksar Massa — Hotel in caïdat de Massa

My view of this establishment was clouded even before I arrived. I was asked by email to complete an arrival form, which refused to download I think three times. Eventually they sent it just as list of questions, but it was not a good start.||The hotel is built into sloping landscape adjacent to the sea, but it is completely overlooked by another very scruffy hotel complex which it is difficult ascertain whether it is open or not.||I arrived at the locked gates of Ksar Massa and a couple of maintenance men appeared; they unlocked the gates and tried unsuccessfully several times to contact the hotel reception. Eventually they directed me to some parking which turned out to be about 500m from the hotel down a steep slope, and was told that it was forbidden to park nearer to the hotel. They did not offer to carry my bags but said a bag man would arrive soon !||The parking adjacent to the hotel was empty apart from a very large 4 X 4 which one can only assume belonged to the owners.||At reception, eventually a man appeared whose first words were to demand payment for my stay - he did not offer to show me round the hotel or to show me my room.||I have stayed in many hotels worldwide, and payment on departure is always the normal procedure.||I fervently took issue with him, demanded to see the owner who it seemed was hosting a private party adjacent to reception, and duly appeared when voices were raised.||He had to be physically restrained from attacking me when I told him of the problem at what I thought of his hotel.||I left soon afterwards and stayed a very pleasant night at La Palmeraie de Massa - good food and drink, good room, good hosts.||I have traveled widely in Morocco, and apart from one exception ( Dar Zitoune, Taroudant ) there are no hotels that are worth over £120.00 per night as demanded by the...

We stayed here for 3 Nights in February. After a warm welcome we got a beautiful big room with a fantastic view to the Atlantic ocean and the dunes at the beach. ||Here are the highs and lows from our point of view;||Highs;||Extremely helpful and friendly staff||The beautiful room with the fantastic view||The wonderful garden - an oasis||The swimmingpool area - stunning||Great for walking - along the beach - maybe visiting the fishermen in their caves - very friendly offering us tea||The national park close to the hotel||Totally relaxing Place||Internet Connection at the room||The food was great! It did not matter that the meny was set and we didn't have a choise of what to eat||The lovely, superfriendly and helpful manager||||Lows||The spa - the massage bench was not comfortable and the therapist didn't seem to be Professional||The hammam and Jacuzzi was Closed - These were something we looked forward to use and we didn't get any information about that it was closed. It's strange - at a hotel like this the spa is important and may be a reason for booking the hotel. ||Not possible to have vine by glass||Overpriced - a bottle of wine COSTs 270 Dirham||The room was overpriced because the information about the hotel was misleading us to book this hotel - hammam and jacuzzi was not available. We should have been informed in advance. ||We actually found cockroachs at the room - twice. Small ones - but they did make noice - so it was easy to find them and...

Reasons why this hotel is not a luxury one and should not have this prices. Should be half this price.|||⁃ Room:||No wifi||Small ridiculous soap in the toilet.||Bad smell coming from the toilet.||Air conditioning machine goes on and off||Old cupboards with no space for clothes||No reading light only general light|||⁃ Swimming pool||The pool is beautifull but around the pool the chairs are old and dirty, looks like never cleaned.|||⁃ Restaurant:||The place is old, dirty, dirty table covers, sofas very dirty, all very old. Never renewed or taken care.||⁃ Food: is nice, well done. Except for the bread that was hard for breakfast. But it is too expensive for what it is! If you ask for coffee they bring horrible pot coffee with pieces, and if you want expreso you pay for it. Plus you don't get eggs if you want fruit. Never seen before. The wine list very expensive and you can't have a glass! You have to take a bottle.|||⁃ Spa: hammam is broken! And to get into a jacuzzi you have to pay 50 euros! The other pool is very cold.|||⁃ The building is old, dirty and needs painting and repairing. Also cleaning. The fountain in the reception looks so dirty it makes the whole place look dirty.||The expresión that resumes this hotel is DEJADO in Spanish, which means forgotten and not taken care of.||I strongly recomend they low their prices so people feel they are paying more...
