I wish I had stayed in this place longer than 1 night! The Eco Farm is less farm-like and more Bali / Yoga retreat-like. There was a shambala beautifully made out of standing palm trees that took my breath away and took me right back to Ubud! There was a bedouin style tent raised from the ground where dinner was served. Each room was an extremely well made hut on the resort's grounds and was warm and cozy decorated in Berber carpets. The food made by trained chef Hicham was delicious. The egg shakshuka served at breakfast had me pretty much wiping my plate and the amlou (an argan oil almond butter paste) was SO delcious that I immediately googled receipes. My only recommendation is that you ask Hicham to email you written a hand-drawn map on how to get there. Google maps was pretty useless. The roads are all still being developed in the area (you can still drive but it's rather rugged in places). When we left Hicham drove along side us in his motorbike and guided us to Kasbah Amridil. If you're lost there are posts along the side of the road from Kasbah Ambridil with an orange blob on them sign posting the road!! ||PS - Do NOT miss the chance to visit the local potter "La Poterie Chez La Famile Kabour Mohamed." You can find his pottery studio on Google. We heard about him from our guide in Merzouga and it was worth the visit. Mohamed is the happiest man on earth and we got to make a pot on his clay wheel. We didn't feel pressurised to buy any pottery and some visitors didn't but the prices of the cups and plates were so reasonable compared to what you you pay in Marrakech that I did purchase some...
Read moreLocated off the beaten track, we managed to take the small little road which wound its way through the barley fields, old Kasbah's and palm trees. It took us 20mins to get there from Skoura. We found out later that there is another wider and quicker road. We had a wonderful 1 night stay. Our family room was comfortable and clean. The outdoor areas were the highlight of the property. We arrived around lunchtime after a visit to the local ancient Kasbah Amridil. Mohammed greeted us and offered to make us lunch. A delicious meal, with fresh vegetables and grilled meats. After a much needed siesta, our host took us on an interesting and educational 2 hour walk through the oasis, explaining all about the plants, water irrigation and the effects of drought in the area. A once lushes area is now being heavily affected by lack of water, having a negative effect on wildlife and farming. A real eye opener on how climate change is affecting this region. The following morning Mohammed took us to a local carpet seller Cadeaux Berbere Skora, where we found our local...
Read moreI travelled here with my wife and two boys (9 and 11 years). Arriving here is an adventure on a maze of dirt tracks lined by humble dwellings. Tamalit Eco Farm is a working family farm run by two humble brothers Mohammed and Icham. Moroccans are known for their hospitality but these two will exceed your expectations! ||We took a tour around the palm groves with Mohammed who has a wealth of knowledge to share on the flora and fauna. He knows everyone. His views and morals are refreshing to hear, and we very much enjoyed sharing our views with him. ||Icham will explode your bellies with some tasty traditional food. He is a trained chef – and is extremely good at it!||Both worked very hard to make our stay pleasant. They even arranged a special cake and live music as a surprise for my wife’s 40th birthday! We danced with them like they were old friends reunited. Thank you both SO much, we will see you again next year...
