This kasbah is perfect. Perfectly, lovingly restored; perfectly calm; and the perfect place to spend a few days. We arrived dusty, tired, and needing some peace after too many nights in a row on the road, and we left restored, re-energized, and wishing we could stay for longer.||||Juan and his team have done a very impressive job restoring the kasbah using traditional methods. The steep, winding stone staircases lead you up through the towers of the kasbah, where you enter your room to find stone floors, traditional walls, and stunning woven ceilings. The views from the top are absolutely unforgettable, especially at sunrise and sunset. The garden surrounding the kasbah has been lovingly tended throughout the kasbah's closure for the pandemic, and the stunning pool is surrounded by lush greenery. The bar area is the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a book or a deck of cards, and the restaurant is incomparable. The food we ate here was some of the best we had on our trip, and the staff were wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions and serving everything on time.||||The rooms were quiet, cool, and peaceful. The bedding is high-quality, and the mattresses are comfortable. The en-suite bathroom is spacious, and the shower had ample hot water (though we tried not to shower for too long, knowing that we were in an oasis in the desert!).||||Juan is an excellent host; very interesting, funny, and quick to resolve any problems. We enjoyed meeting him and spending time with him.||||We stayed in March 2022, and we were lucky to have the kasbah all to ourselves, being the first guests since the kasbah reopened. Everything was clean, beautiful, and ready to go. The pool was very chilly - but that didn't stop us from dipping our feet in, or the kids from swimming in the afternoons! Sitting next to the pool, looking out at the oasis with a cup of tea, was an absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon.||||All in all, this was an absolutely magnificent experience, one that I will be recommending to anyone within earshot. We stayed for three nights, and we all could have stayed for at least three more. Many thanks to Juan; we had a lovely time, and we can't wait to come...
Read moreThis is possibly one of the most beautiful properties in which I've ever stayed. It has been renovated and decorated in such an elegantly 'modest' way (which I mean as an absolute compliment, if you see it you'll understand) that it just makes you sigh....take a deep breath....and relax. Clearly a huge amount of time and effort has gone into it. It's like stepping back in time (all the ancient and local methods have been utilised), but with the added value of excellent water pressure and heating (it was December!). ||||I had the pleasure to chat with the owner, Juan, who was as welcoming and gracious as one could hope: I felt that I was a house guest rather than a paying one. His team are amazing, they convey a warmth and willingness to help that is so often lacking elsewhere. Something that really demonstrates this is that they operate an honour bar: take a drink and just let them know about it at check out. Wonderful. The dinner I had was fabulous and excellent value, eaten in the lovely dining room with the big fire. ||||As you may have guessed, I'm a fan. I suspect that you...
