An Unforgettable Stay at Kasbah Tiziri – A True Hidden Gem
I’m not someone who usually writes reviews, but after our stay at Kasbah Tiziri, I felt truly compelled to share what an extraordinary experience we had.
Tucked away in a picturesque village, Kasbah Tiziri is more than just a place to stay — it’s a full-sensory experience that blends tradition, comfort, and authenticity in the most beautiful way. The owner, Michelle, a Canadian who made Morocco her home, has lovingly restored the old kasbah with incredible respect for local culture and architecture, while seamlessly incorporating thoughtful touches that would impress even the most discerning traveler.
Every corner of the property is curated with impeccable taste — from the inviting common spaces perfect for lounging and relaxing, to the peaceful garden, charming dining areas, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views. It feels like a true oasis, calm and inspiring.
But what makes this place exceptional is Michelle herself. She is a natural storyteller and an unparalleled host. Her deep connection with the local community and culture brings a layer of insight and authenticity that no guidebook or tour can offer. Conversations with her are as enriching as they are enjoyable.
And then there's the food — wow. Michelle’s kitchen is a beautiful fusion of traditional Moroccan flavors with a modern twist, all homemade with incredible care. If you have the chance, take one of her cooking classes — it’s a memorable experience in itself.
Location-wise, Kasbah Tiziri is ideal. Whether you're making your way between Marrakech and Merzouga, or venturing into the nearby mountains and breathtaking landscapes, this is the perfect base — or better yet, a peaceful stop to reset and reconnect.
In short, Kasbah Tiziri is one of those rare places that leaves a mark on your heart. It’s not just a stay — it’s a meaningful experience. My husband and I, we are already dreaming...
Read moreWe felt so lucky to have stumbled upon the Moroccan Footsteps tour company. Michelle and Houcine organized a 15-day, custom Moroccan itinerary for our family of four (we have 2 kids - 9 and 11 years old) and the trip was meticulously planned, taking into account all of our special wishes. The icing on the cake was being able to meet them and spend time at their own Kasbah Tiziri in the Valley of the Roses. They have restored an old Kasbah (Michelle is an architect from Canada) and now they host guests from around the world. It was by far the most wonderful experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated (loved the cozy white bedding and towels), the food at breakfast and dinner was excellent and the amenities are brilliant. We even had access to a little kitchen stocked with tea/cookies and drinks, free of charge. So considerate and thought-through. It was the perfect blend of high-end comfort and traditional Berber hospitality. Tip: be sure to book a cooking class at Kasbah Tiziri and be sure to get in touch with Michelle and Houcine about organizing the rest of your Moroccan itinerary (with private driver/guide). It was the best...
Read morePure magic! This kasbah hotel was our favorite stay by far in a 2 week tour where we stayed in probably 10 different (and nice) places. A restored 250yo kasbah, this is a labor of love by Michelle and Hassan. Immaculate, beautifully and tastefully decorated, and impeccable hospitality. We seriously pouted when we had to leave after only one night and tried to think of ways to sabotage our itinerary to stay longer. Inside tip on gauging whether a hotel is cares about its community: how do they treat your guide/driver. Ours was welcomed and taken care of. Pay attention to this and other reviews: one night is not enough. This is a perfect home base for touring the area, which has a lot to offer. Just leave time to...
