I spent one night here as part of a two-day excursion, spending two days with an Amazigh (Berber) weaver in the village, and day hikes with Ouikia Tours & Activities, arranged through Morocco Desert Trips. The staff was most gracious and helpful, and the lunch tagine and dinner coucous were filling and delicious. The gite has two really beautiful terraces that look out on the village and the mountains, and are a great place to hang out.||||While the days were mild, the night was chilly. The extra heavy blanket in the room was put to good use. There is plenty of information on the walls of the common area about the wildlife, geography and the geology of the area, including maps of popular trekking routes. The gite serves as a lunch stop and hub for travelers in the High Atlas. They also sell locally produced jams and honey: sales benefit the local women's...

Myself and my partner were on a guided walking tour and had an overnight stay. This turnout to be here, a little gem in the middle of the mountains and a small traditional village. Rashid (hopefully spelt right) and his team were amazing, so welcoming. Food was excellent (such big portions, and Rashid joined us and another guest for dinner), bedrooms and rest of hostel very clean. Thank you to the other guest (apologies cant remember your name, chap from tangier) for being the translator for the evening. If you want a quiet and clean hostel and friendly people, then here is a place to stay. If back in area, we...

A hidden gem in the Atlas mountains, not far from Marrakech. We took a bus from Marrakech to Ourika and a taxi up the valley, you can walk from the bridge at Tazitount, or take a local 4x4. The walk is uphill and take about one and a half hours, but it's worth it if you dont have a lot of luggage. The scenery form the gite and the atmosphere was so amazing that we decided to stay two more days. I can not recommend this place enough for people finding the streets and city life of Marrakech too busy. The food is amazing. Don't think twice, just go, and you will be rewarded with memories for a lifetime.
