I stayed at Dar Talmoudi with a group of seven women on a tour through southern Morocco, and we all agreed—it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Visiting Dar Talmoudi is a once in a lifetime fully immersive experience! The owner, Abdo, is committed to sharing his and his family’s way of life with their guests. He has hand-built a truly beautiful place for visitors to stay on the cusp of the Sahara Desert. All rooms look into a gorgeous interior courtyard full of date trees (okay, palm trees), flowers, and lovely places to relax alone or with others. At night, guests can even sleep outside under the stars. There is a large rooftop terrace, also-perfect for stargazing. Abdo will also arrange fun activities such as quad riding, hiking, climbing sand dunes, sand boarding, cooking, riding camels, tea in the desert, baking sand bread in the desert, and camping-to name just a few!
