Kasbah hnini — Hotel in caïdat de Tamezmoute

After a long drive from Marrakesh and through the Draa Valley we arrived at Kasbah dar Hnini. This is a newly built hotel in the Moroccan Kasbah style with four towers. We were here two nights and explored the surrounding villages and the Oued Drea River (the longest river in Morocco). The rooms were spacious, with a well-equipped bathroom that had ample hot water and good pressure. Given the isolated nature of the hotel, we had dinner at the hotel, which consisted of a traditional Moroccan fare of soup and tagine with rice and fruit for dessert. I would rate the food as fair. We have mixed feelings about our stay. This looked like it would be the best hotel of our trip as it is so expensive but it really came in under expectations. Our room smelled badly of sewage and we were told by the manager that to rent 2 bicycles for one hour would cost 250 dh each which is extortionate and ridiculous.
