This casbah is set in a beautiful garden with fountain, and pool. Walking distance to town. The town is of little interest, but the oasis, casbahs and old villages nearby are worth a stay here. We had a room with private terrace and direct access to the (not heated) pool, but still lovely to relax around in February. On both days here staff came out to offer us mint tea and biscuits.|The room was comfortable with lots of cupboard space and a large bathroom. Minus points for a toilet that ran and a shower that leaked at all the joints in a region suffering with a shortage of water.|The plus points were delightful staff especially the waitress who was charming, interesting and with a real sense of service while actively engaged with the customers and with good language skills. She is a real asset. Dinner two nights running was fabulous, probably the best food we had in 2 weeks in Morocco. There is someone with real skill in the kitchen. Wine is served here.|A guest house I would...
Read moreThis was booked as stop to our desert camp and the property and the owners are lovely. They had been made known that two in our party are celiac and I must say dinner was fabulous and they made sure that they knew about the allergy. The rooms were lovely and well appointed with heat as it was really cold out. Unfortunately for us and them there was a plumbing issue with our room and quickly they switched us to another room. 2 hours later there was another plumbing issue with new room. Again they were so attentive. Just luck of the draw for us and them. However I must say they took care of us regarding that and the only reason why they received 4 stars instead of 5 even with all this hassle was because there was really no breakfast for our celiac friends. They totally forgot over night and in fact said nobody had told...
Read moreThe property is an old Kasbah and is stunning - especially the pool and patio area. I was hoping to go into the pool but it’s still a bit too cold. We did order a bottle of wine and sat out and it was lovely. Inside is a very traditional vibe. It was chilly at night so the heat pump was good to have. Bed is on the hard side. They don’t have a dryer so towels are a bit rough - no problem.
The people working here are very friendly. Lastly the food - highly worth booking dinner it was one of my favourite meals of my whole trip!! Breakfast was also good a mix of bread, crepes and jams as well as orange juice from oranges from the garden. Don’t forget to tip the ladies making and serving the food.
Only feedback would be the gardens need to be tended to a bit more. Maybe they don’t have a gardener...
