There are positives and negatives about this place. First of all, I chose this place based on the photographs and video about this place. It is a beautiful place, but the photos and video are made by the owner who is an amazing photographer. There’s a bit of bait and switch going on in that some of the pictures and the video make it look better than it is. The rooms are tiny and feel like being in a chicken barn. The outside places are reminiscent of Gilligan’s Island. I’d say it’s a good pit stop for one night and that’s about it. I booked two nights and it was BORING. There’s nothing to do except hike (which we did). The rest of the time when you are there, if it is winter you are going to FREEZE. I mean it is REALLY REALLY cold. No place to sit in your room and outside is too cold to sit. And get this, it’s a bit like prison because they will not turn on the heat until 7-8 pm at night for your room and then it is promptly turned off in the morning. Paying $130 per night and freezing to death is not okay. Shame on this owner!!!! The staff are lovely, it’s very clean and the dinner is good. Breakfast is okay but all is cold. My husband really enjoyed the musicians that played after dinner. WiFi is really bad if almost nonexistent. Be careful when reading all of the other reviews where they say this place is five stars. They are all guides!!! They probably have their room for free and/or the owner is giving them heat!!! I think this place is way overpriced for what you get and basically to be that freezing cold all day is not worth...
Read moreWe found this place as it was the most convenient spot for an overnight stay from Chigaga on the way to the coast. It is owned by a Spanish photographer who aims to run a sustainable business amidst a drying landscape. The room was nice and tidy, however, really cold at night despite the radiator in the room which didn’t do much when on. The bathroom was nice with hot water on anytime which is quite an achievement for rural Morocco. As with many small accommodations in Morocco in remote areas, you get a set meal for dinner. The soup was delicious but the rest was very stew-y and meaty which I didn’t really like. The next day we were charged 150 MAD (€15) per person for this dinner which is extremely expensive for a dinner in a less touristy area. The breakfast was a buffet and was not cooked fresh for each guest like in other places. The oasis itself was nice and tranquil - it would have been better if the many chairs and rugs to chill in were cleaner - I saw stray cats and dogs roll over the rugs. All in all was an okay stay for one night albeit an...
Read moreMy wife and I have stayed in Agdz dozens of times over the years and Hara Oasis is the fourth different accommodation we've stayed in and is by far the best.||||It has a superb location right on the bank of the Draa river and offers fantastic views of the impressive Jbel Kissane mountain and the surrounding palm groves. It is a photographer's delight!||||The property itself is interesting with lots of terraces and salons along with the comfortable bedrooms that all surround a beautiful garden - all tastefully decorated.||The breakfast is good and dinner amazing.||||The owners are experts on southern Morocco and were able to give great advice on places to visit that are well off the usual tourist routes.||||We were recommended this property years ago and finally got to stay there and enjoyed every minute. In fact, we had originally booked to stay for two nights, but extended to four as there was so much to do.||||Thanks Juan,...
