Usually, I do not write reviews on the internet. Even if there are some discrepancies, most of the points are already covered in other people's reviews. However, this time, I had a very disappointing experience personally, and I thought writing a review would be helpful for Hoping it would help those considering staying here.

Let's start with the booking experience. After making a reservation on the Amanjena website, I received a confirmation email, but my name was incorrect. It is extremely bad to see your name spelled wrong just as your trip is about to begin. There were troubles with the pre-internet payment for the accommodation, and it felt strange that there was no all-day dining restaurant during the stay. I will omit these details due to the character limit.

The decisive incident happened during checkout. Just as I was about to head to the airport, I was told that there were missed charges that needed to be paid. Two glasses of champagne from the first day had been missed. Given the four-night stay and the jet lag upon arrival, I could not remember such details.

At Amanjena, guests are given a written summary of their expenses within the hotel the day before checkout. This summary includes only the date, restaurant name, and total amount, without detailed statements. Of course, I want to pay what I owe, but without a detailed statement in hand, it’s impossible to verify the charges. The reception staff called the restaurant and confirmed that the order was made, but they did not check against a detailed bill. With the flight time approaching, I went ahead and paid, had the detailed bill printed, and hurried to the airport, feeling very tired.

Usually, at Aman Resorts, guests do not sign receipts for each transaction because the staff are expected to remember them, eliminating the need for signatures. However, if they cannot manage guest billing properly, perhaps they should not skip the receipt signing process.

Additionally, the bill had my name but another guest’s address. When I pointed this out, they apologized and asked me to fill in the address myself, despite having provided it during the online reservation. It is incomprehensible to ask a guest to fill out their address just before a flight, and it raises concerns about how they handle personal information.

Then, we headed to Marrakech Menara Airport by car. The airport parking lot was extremely crowded. After about five minutes of searching for a parking space, we were told, 'The parking is full, so please get off here,' and we were dropped off in the parking lot, which made me laugh. At this point, I had no expectations left, so I retrieved my suitcase and headed to the airport entrance, having to carry my suitcase down the parking lot stairs. If the parking lot is full, they could have exited the lot and dropped us off at the airport entrance, or at the very least, helped with the stairs. The level of service was lower than that of large chain hotels.

Aman Resorts is not a cheap resort, but it offers hospitality and satisfaction that exceeds its price, which is why I have been enchanted by the experience and stayed at Aman Resorts all over the world. However, this experience did not meet those standards at all, and unfortunately, the level of service did not justify the cost.

To be fair, the resort does have many positive aspects, and many users have left favorable comments. I recommend referring to those as well. Some people mentioned the aging facilities, I think which is a matter of personal preference. Although a bit old, the facilities are well-maintained and cared for. I much prefer the slightly older but more unique Aman Resorts from the Mr. Adrian Zecha era over the newer, less distinctive ones that have opened in the past decade.

This review is just my personal opinion and perhaps I was unlucky. The hotel might thank me for the feedback and promise improvements. However, while I will continue to stay at Aman Resorts, I will never visit Amanjena again. Once a customer's trust is lost, it can never...

I felt the need to come back to amanjena and it didn't disappointed. Last year I was there and the experience was from out of this world. I'm not going to talk about the beauty and stunning property of amanjena cuz everyone agrees with that and what impresses me always is the service. Since the first moment that you step feet in the hotel (it's weird to call this a hotel) you hear "welcome home again" and it really feels like home. I was always greeted by name and if someone need to say something to me they would always start with Mr Vasco. I want to congratulate the gentleman that works in the lunch area (I forgot to ask his name but he is the one that wears glasses) because he remembered that my mom likes like a personalized salad and the way she enjoys her coffee with a cigarette always bringing the ashtray to her even in the pool area. Another amazing person of amanjena is I don't how to write it but I know that it pronounces Noman. He was always worried about us and our well being. He remembered our names and our Likes. He was always worried about the shade in our sunbeds and we had amazing conversations about the philosophy of AMAN. He is truly a great guy, he even got emotional in our last day. See you soon Noman. I don't know how to explain how lovely Sha the Spa Manager is, she is so professional and human at the same time. I had a conversation with her of 1h30min about AMAN, about life, traveling, problems of growing up, good things of growing up etc... In which hotel you have the vibe and the workers the time to do this? It's amazing how human are the people of amanjena and not like robots like in other hotels. Lastly but not least I want to say the biggest thank you possible to the mastermind and King of Hospitality Matt, the Duty Manager of Amanjena. When I was there I remember thinking "How would it be amanjena without Matt?" and I realized of course that the hotel would be the same and the service would be of a 5 star hotel, but amanjena is completely different from everything. Matt makes the hotel feel like a big hug (this is weird but it's the best way I can describe it). Matt is so professional and kind at the same time. He's always asking if everything is going perfect to be sure of our well being. In the previous day of our departure I asked him if we could leave the room on a late check out because our flight was at night and he said that he was almost certain but that he would check and tell me later. 5 mins after I had a message on my phone confirming the late check out. On the last day the house keeping team cleaned our room and made the beds like usual, in other hotels if it's your check out date of course that they would not clean your room. Matt sent someone to buy the exact type of coffee of Nespresso that my mom likes. He assured that we had the table that we want every night and would always speak with us during dinner. He received us with hug and said goodbye to us with an even bigger hug. The best thing about this is that I could give another 1001 examples of good service because they are always happening there. Sorry for this amount of information but for me giving examples is the best thing of explaining something instead of just saying "the service in Amanjena is out of this world" Amanjena is a place where you feel truly human connections, an impeccable attention to detail and a truly attencipation of the things you need and like. I love a good service and amanjena never fails to amaze me. See you soon (This review may have some mistakes because I wrote it in English and...

How anyone could rate this property below 5 stars is inconceivable to me. From the moment that we arrived- it was clear that this would be no ordinary stay. No check in lines or waiting- as soon as our car doors opened, Matthias and his team greeted us by name and graciously welcomed us onto the property, deftly securing a dinner reservation at the resort's Moroccan restaurant. Yasmin gave us an informed and leisurely tour of the property, and then allowed us to retreat to the privacy of our beautifully appointed and beyond spacious Pavilion suite. A quick tip- do not pass on the welcome tea and pastries, or on the pastries in the room- they are delectable- this coming from someone who has traveled all over the world and who has a major sweet tooth.

Dinner was incredible, there was live music by a trio of oud players, and we had the best seat in the house with a perfect view of the entire restaurant. Then, when we arrived back at our suite, the room had been turned down with a gorgeous candlelit presentation of rose petals, a rose petal drawn bath, as well as some other special touches by the hotel staff.

The next day, we had reserved the Agafay experience and this was beyond anything I could ever imagine. The camel ride and tent setup was private, which was expected, but the size of the tent far outdid the surrounding camps- which were kept at a respectable distance for both privacy and for preserving the panoramic view of the Atlas Mountains and the surrounding Agafay desert. The staff had also setup over 100 candles and lanterns in the camp and the surrounding desert so that when night fell, the area looked like it had been set ablaze by starlight. There were also multiple warming and romantic fireplaces setup, once of which was where we had our first toast of the night, while enjoying a private oud concert. Last, but certainly not least, was the food- incredible as expected but also interactive! Our host made sure that we took part in making wood fired bread as well as taking the time to explain and demonstrate the different stone ovens in use for the preparation of our dinner.

On the last day, we were able to have time for breakfast at the resort and it was the perfect sendoff from our incredible Matthias- the oatmeal with raspberry coulis was some of the best I've ever had, and there were fresh juices, coffee, avocado toast, and more- something for everyone. A nod here to the service staff- we were never bothered by annoying calls for turndown service- like ninjas they came and went whenever we left the room and took care of everything. The only calls we ever got were those we were aware of like for car rides or booked appointments.

This was our first Aman stay and it most certainly will not be the last. The fact that this property has been around for 20+ years is a blessing! The architecture and human design elements were so well thought out that they are relevant and in fact trending to this day! For example, the burled wood elements and the green marble accents in the bathrooms- take a look at room & board or cb2 or crate and barrel and you'll see the very same material touches in 2023.

We almost didn't book because of the reviews mentioning the age of the hotel and that would have been such a pity! 5 star service and hospitality NEVER go...
