We stayed at Palais Ronsard for a weekend getaway, valentines & my husband birthday. They greet you with “welcome to Paradise” but trust me it’s faaaar from being a Paradise. We booked a Petit Pavillon at $1,000 per night, which we got assigned “La Paresseuse”. Similar to a small gated private villa. ||Oumaima the receptionist/host that escorted us there upon arrival was super nice & helpful but then the disappointment started: ||1. We were taking a bath which has a clear through window with a transparent curtain, and hotel staff were literally walking by, completely see through. Keep in mind that we booked a private pavilion which is gated so no one is supposed to walk in front of our bathroom.. ||2. The terrace maintenance was awful, as you can see in the pictures the floor was NOT clean and not from a day but it’s looking like old dirt.. no grass as you can see in the picture, looking like an abandoned garden. I looked into other pavilions and it was not looking like this.. |no excuse about the rain as it started raining only saturday night.. ||3. Housekeeping: Saturday afternoon after we left the room I advised the front desk to send the housekeeping team however 1 hour after the room was still not cleaned, I had to call back again. They cleaned it but unfortunately badly.. you can see in the pictures that the table has not been wiped off. The floor is full of crumbs from the in room breakfast we took. ||4. The food overall was good but not accommodating. When I made the initial reservation I advised them on 2 things: ||- My food restrictions as I am pregnant which is pretty easy just no raw food & pasteurized milk/cheese.| We wanted to order lunch in the villa, unfortunately the staff had zero|Knowledge about cheese being pasteurized or not. I then asked a simple cheeseburger however the mayonnaise was homemade with raw egg so I just asked them to make another simple sauce for the burger to avoid being dry. But this looked like a hustle for them. The chef called me 30min but not helpful at all, we then went to the Mandarin to have lunch which was fabulous btw. ||- The second thing was my husband 30th birthday that we wanted to celebrate Saturday evening. I requested to have a birthday cake in the room, please look at the picture attached - this is ridiculous.. how can you put such a small cake with not even a happy birthday note especially after all the issues we had previously. We were literally laughing at it. Keep in mind that we are paying 1,000 USD per night.. |||All of the above for a 2 night stay which was suppose to be “paradise”. After each issue, the management team was aware as I was complaining and advising them about everything in REAL time. |Saturday evening the general manager, Karima Sahraoui made an appearance and only acknowledged & apologized. I was obviously expecting something.. ||Today, at the check out they gave me the bill as of nothing happened, I requested to speak to a manager on duty or who ever is aware about all the situations and can take decisions however no managers on Sundays, not even on duty. No one, only the receptionist which was embarrassed. I don’t understand how a gm can not leave instructions or even fix situations.. She was just here to “apologize” that’s not being a manager - you should go have a look at five stars property around you to learn your duties. ||After waiting more than an hour without any resolutions/help or assistance, the owner of the property Aram walked by, I explained very briefly the situation. 30min after the receptionist came to me saying that “we will make a discount of $60” what would you like to do beside laughing.. I have NEVER ever experienced such a management team. They have zero ability to fix issues or make the clients satisfied. ||This pavilion & service deserve not even $600 a night because the decor is nice.. We are regular clients of five stars property such as the Mandarin, the Aman & Royal Mansour and trust me this is far from being a 5 star in Marrakech. |I am in the hospitality business for several years & handle VIP clients from all over the world.| I have been traveling all over the world at high end properties which are not comparable. |Moreover, this is supposed to be a relais chateau property, I think they should review their license. Only instagramable property.. I was supposed to do my wedding there a year and a half ago but thank god I picked another hotel, it would have been a nightmare. ||Definitely not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at this magnificent hotel, Palais Ronsard in Marrakech, and I feel compelled to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding experience I had, especially during an unexpected period of illness over Christmas.
From the moment I arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff, particularly Oumaima in concierge, left an indelible impression. Oumaima went above and beyond, orchestrating every detail of my stay, from airport transfers to organising enchanting activities like hot air balloon rides and a fantastic guided tour of Marrakech. Her genuine kindness and efficiency were unparalleled, turning my concerns about transportation into a seamless and worry-free experience. She is not just exceptional at her job; she is the heartbeat of Palais Ronsard's hospitality.
During my illness, the care extended by the team was nothing short of remarkable. Fatima in the spa provided soothing eucalyptus for my pillow and tissues, offering relief during my head cold. Salim from reception went the extra mile by communicating my condition to Chef Alexandre Thomas, who crafted a beautifully nutritious vegetable soup not found on the menu, a thoughtful and comforting gesture that I very much appreciated.
I must also commend Dounia, Meryem, and Zinedine for their continuous attentiveness, ensuring my well-being whenever Oumaima was unavailable. Whether by the pool or in my room, their gestures, such as delivering honey and lemon, showcased a level of care that surpassed my expectations.
Yassine and Yassime, responsible for breakfast and poolside service, were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Not only did they cater to my needs, but they also surprised me with a personalised touch – a Baileys coffee, a delightful nod to the Irish festive season and a testament to your staff's dedication to ensuring guest satisfaction and making guests feel at home.
Evenings at Palais Ronsard were made magical by the impeccable turn-down service. Jalil's assistance in lighting the fire in my room created a cozy ambiance, especially appreciated during my moments of discomfort. Zine-Eddine's swift and friendly room service made evenings effortless and enjoyable leaving you to completely relax in the surroundings of my stunning suite.
Chef Alexandre Thomas's culinary artistry in the evenings deserves special mention. The inspired fusion of traditional Moroccan cuisine, Mediterranean specialties, and flavors from distant lands created a dining experience beyond compare. Each dish was a masterpiece, a testament to Chef Thomas's dedication to showcasing the best of nature and the seasons. The dining experience at Palais Ronsard is a celebration of taste and a journey through diverse culinary landscapes and even though I had gone out to dinner several times during my stay, my dinners in the hotel were some of my favourite meals.
In essence, the exceptional service provided by the team at Palais Ronsard transformed what could have been an uncomfortable stay into a truly memorable one. The attention to detail, personalised care, and unwavering dedication to guest well-being made Palais Ronsard feel like a home away from home. It never felt forced or disingenuous, just always sincere and an obvious desire to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. Having traveled extensively and stayed in numerous world-class establishments, I can confidently say that Palais Ronsard has surpassed them all, leaving an indelible mark on my heart.
Thank you for the warmth, kindness, and extraordinary service. My experience at Palais Ronsard has set a new standard for hospitality, and I look forward to returning to your oasis of luxury and tranquility in beautiful Marrakech with the Wonderful team at...
Read moreBeautiful Hotel, but Serious Issues with Service, Food Safety & Management
The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful. Unfortunately, the service and management fall far below the standards expected from a property affiliated with Relais & Châteaux. We had planned to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and ordered a birthday cake in advance. We have received written confirmation from the hotel regarding the cake delivery. Upon arrival, we ordered a bottle of champagne to enjoy in our room together with the cake. The cake, however, never arrived. After mentioning it twice at the front desk, a small pastry shop cake was finally delivered—at midnight. It was a meaningful occasion, and the lack of attention was deeply disappointing. The next day, at the pool, we ordered two beers. Instead of placing them in the ice bucket on our table, the waiter left them out in the sun, and they were already warm by the time we touched them. A small detail? Perhaps. But it was indicative of the careless, lazy service that persisted throughout our stay. The worst part: For lunch we have order Gnocchi and Linguine alle Vongole. Not only the service has forgotten about my Gnocchi in the first place, my girlfriend became violently ill after the Linguine within two hours. Her condition was so severe that a medical professional had to be called to our room. Management showed zero concern—no follow-up, no inquiry, no empathy. It was disturbing. When we checked out, the Linguine alle Vongole was still on our bill. It took a lengthy discussion at the front desk before someone finally contacted the management—who refused to speak with us directly. Only after further back and forth was the meal removed. The cost of medical assistance, however, remained entirely ours to bear. To make matters worse, they offered implausible excuses for the illness, including the suggestion that she may have swallowed pool water. This kind of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable, especially from a hotel under the Relais & Châteaux banner. I fully agree with other reviewers who have pointed out the poor quality of the management. Their complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and guest care does not reflect the standards one expects at this level of hospitality. We will not return, and we do not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting even the basics of care, service, or...
