We have just returned from a 3 night stay. |We wanted a very chilled break and we were not disappointed as the hotel is very relaxing. |It’s a taxi ride to the medina which suited us fine as we could come away from the hustle and bustle. |We stayed in a junior suite called rector. It was very spacious and terrace with saloon type doors straight to the pool and bar. It is not a very modern decor but we found that appealing as it felt traditional. |The pool was lovely, very clean and as soon as staff saw you walking to a linger they were there right away with a towel. |I was pleasantly surprised at the level of of cleanliness (even the bar tender was vacuuming the bar area one of the days we were there) everything is spotless.. |The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble and they were all very friendly special shout out to Hamza who was always smiling and the chef who had very limited English but the bar staff would translate between us. |The breakfast is a little limited but very nice and cooked to order. |We ate there each day and every thing we had from salads, panini and tagine was excellent. The highlight being the beef tagine. We have eaten in many excellent places in different countries and are foodies and the beef tagine is one of the nicest dishes we have had. |All in all I would hugely recommend this hotel if you want a nice chilled out break. |We are already looking at dates to...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights in early December 2019. Positives:||- Peace and quiet, which you simply would not get in any Riad in the centre of Marrakech.|- The pool - although too cold in December, we enjoyed some time by the pool in the sunshine.|- Bar and snacks - not over priced, and nice food|- The hotel dog!|- The taxi service available for dropping in and out of the city - just give 30 minutes notice and you’ll be ready to go, and arrange a good location for pick up. At £8 each way, it’s a good service.|- Room was a nice size, had a heater which was good as it’s not that warm in December.||Negatives:|- Speed - nothing is quick. Breakfast was painfully slow at 45 minutes to an hour.|- Breakfast - very basic and repetitive. We managed for 3 days, any more and I would’ve been bored.|- Professionalism of staff - they have conversations loudly that customers should not hear. I won’t give specifics but if I was easily offended, one telephone conversation I overheard would have ended in a serious complaint.|- Finishing touches - in our room, toilet roll holder was missing - clearly had fallen down, but not replaced and unfinished filler on the wall.||Marrakech city was brilliant and isn’t as overwhelming as I had expected. Plenty of friendly people and at no point did I feel intimidated. Food is amazing and not expensive, if you want to drink alcohol be prepared...
Read moreAvoid - customer service is non existent most of the stay and when it does exist it is a 1/10. We stayed in a junior suite and booked breakfast and dinner through ebookers. When it came to dinner we asked what we could choose from on the menu and was told we had to pay for dinner. I showed on my booking that it included breakfast and dinner but they would not accept it. I showed 3/4 different people that worked there. I asked for the manager, waited over an hour in the lobby area from 7pm to 8pm but he did not come. We then ordered a simple dinner of just a main course and one drink each. When we checked out they refused to let us leave. They would not allow us out the building to the taxi without paying for the dinner and a heavy service fee on top. They said English people are rich, that they are poor, that the manager will take it out of their salaries if I did not pay. There’s were four men standing over me and it was incredibly intimidating. I was crying and eventually said I would pay the bill minis for service charge (the food took a very long time to come and we had to go to the bar for the drinks ourselves). They would not accept this. The taxi driver would not take us to the airport and we almost missed our flight. I would never ever stay here again or recommended to anyone else. The customer service is awful - the man behind the desk is...
