Superficially and Rooms at high standard. Reception run by a Camel-Breeder by the looks and way he treats the reception of customers, calling them up with a camel stick in his hand to move around in the parking space and asking lots of questions that no other professional or private hotel, neither the border control ever asked and needed. Don't think the other service team excluding the guards is any better. While the Security-Guards are kind and friendly, the bar service people don't talk, don't deliver, neither in time or in quality, aside from high charges. At least the vehicles are guarded.
When you think they pull the booking-charge from your booking-portal, that's not the case and when you leave they will confirm all ok. Just to get aggressive addressing you just like a namibian or indian phishing spammer via whatsup to pay cash to some dubious account. Luckily that could be settled in the normal official way with the hotel management.
Again, I have no complaints on security and rooms or the overall facilities. Those were to the presented standard of the hotel, but the core reception and restaurant service team need some deep training! Unacceptable and below any, I mean any little supermarket guy opening a friends next-door house type...
Read moreI spent about two weeks at this hotel, located in Berber country on the edge of the Sahara, and found the experience enjoyable. The key to success is about managing expectations. The staff at les Relais were enthusiastic, exhibiting typical Moroccan hospitality, (excellent) and always accomodating. ||||A small pool was refreshingly cool after a hot day. The bar, always smoke filled, was stocked with red and rosie wines, local beer and whiskey. Breakfast was normal and lunch and dinner likewise, with an abundance of good and hearty Moroccan quisine. The hotel is located within a few minutes walking distance of the center of town. ||||The cost of stay is very reasonable but wifi could be problematic when more than a couple dozen patrons simultaneously attempted to log on. ||||Also, the rooms are small with a shower always supplying hot water when desired and a descent separate toilet. Two beds per, for most rooms which are daily cleaned and done leaving a pleaaant smell of flowers afterwards....
Read moreSome years ago we found ourselves in Tata for several days over Christmas and while we didnt stay here, this was the only place to eat in the evenings that was open. Then we were the only customers most evenings and while this is not gourmet dining, the food is really decent and the service charming. So this time we stopped by, got a room for a very very reasonable rate (did the person who thought it expensive really stay here?) including breakfast and dinner, and were not surprised to find the place filled up before nightfall. The smoky bar continues to attract all the drinkers for miles around, but has decent wine at reasonable prices. Our room reminded us of a British holiday camp of the 1960s: twin beds, cheery white walls, clean towels, a really good hot-water shower. Breakfast was as good as you will find in fancy riads in Marrakech: fresh oj and pancakes with jam and cheese and limitless coffee. And the staff are still charming and happy: a sign of...
