The Nautilus Hotel — Hotel in Cabo Delgado Province

I stayed at the Nautilus Hotel during a recent business trip and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a rustic, coastal-style property but easily the best option in Pemba. This is Mozambique after all. ||The hotel sits right on the beach, which makes it ideal if you want to unwind after a long day of work. The sound of the ocean, fresh air, and laid-back atmosphere create a sense of calm that’s rare on a business trip.||Rooms are simple but spotless, well maintained, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. They were always ready to help with taxis, Wi-Fi, or local recommendations.||I saw a recent review saying there was no airport pickup, but we had a seamless collection with no problems at all. ||A special mention must go to the restaurant. The seafood is exceptional, fresh, perfectly prepared, and easily the highlight of my stay. I had several meals there, and each one was consistently good.||Overall, Nautilus Hotel delivers what matters most: cleanliness, good service, and a beachfront location. A lovely spot. Nothing pretentious about this resort. It's cheaper that others and understandably so, very slightly rough around the edges. It's still lovely though!

Prices do not reflect the hotel anymore . It looks as though nothing has been reviewed in the last 10 months. Over USD $100 for an old, run down room. Not clean, the air conditioning produced an awful smell. Shower was mouldy and didn't produce much water as the head was blocked. The door frame to the bathroom was rotten.

Restuarant breakfast included in the room rate was so basic . They didn't have any supplies, no butter, no avocado (when asked, the waiter said you could get avocados in Pemba, i wonder why the hotel didn't buy them) . milkshake was terrible all fake ingredients. Beach sellers position then selves right beside you and wait to catch your eye, every time you look up they try and flog you something, there is nothing comfortable or peaceful about it . Während einer Geschäftsreise nach Pemba wählte ich das Nautilus wegen seiner herrlichen Lage am Wimbe-Beach, dem HotSpot Pembas mit einigen Restaurants und Bars.||||Es handelt sich um eine weitläufige Anlage direkt auf dem Strand mit herrlichem Blick auf den indischen Ozean und die Bucht von Wimbe. Die in afrikanischem Stil gebauten Bungalows mit Strohdach sind durch Holzstege untereinander verbunden. Mein geräumiges Bungalow für 4 Personen verfügte über 2 Schlafzimmer mit komfortablen Doppelbetten und sehr guten Kissen, Moskitonetzen, Klimaanlage, Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher mit Tee und Instantkaffee (uuhhh) sowie einem Wohnzimmer mit Sitzecke und einer möblierten Terrasse.||||Das Hotel verfügt über einen schönen Pool mit Holzdeck und Liegestühlen direkt am Strand sowie ein Restaurant mit Bar, in der auch Sportereignisse gezeigt werden. Die Leitung des Restaurants wird in Kürze wechseln, so daß meine Anmerkungen hierzu für nachfolgende Reisende wohl nicht mehr gültig sein werden. Abgesehen wir der sehr guten Seafood-Platte mit frischem Hummer und Scampi war das Niveau gutes Mittelmaß und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht angemessen. Auch die übrigen Restaurants am Wimbe-Beach bieten eher einfachere Hausmannskost und nichts für Feinschmecker.||||Hervorzuheben ist der gute Service des vom sympathischen Manager Anthony geführten Teams, das mir stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stand. Ein ATM befindet sich direkt neben dem Hotel - sehr praktisch !||||Die Umgebung ist auch bei Nacht sehr sicher - ein Nachtspaziergang am Strand oder auf der an den Wochenenden zur Partymeile umfunktionierten Uferstraße ist problemlos möglich.||||Natürlich gibt es weitere Hotels in Pemba : alt eingesessene auf hohem Niveau (Pemba Beach Hotel) oder neue ohne Charme (Raphael). Das Nautilus ist für mich aber die beste Kombination aus guter Unterkunft, afrikanischem Flair und vor allem exzellenter Strandlage, die so keines der anderen...
