I try to not give bad reviews and I hardly have too but this place.||The service of the person that received us was poor. For a resort, language proved to be a barrier.|Then he sold me an expensive room for 4000 mtc only to have a room with no headboard, broken shower door and a wall falling apart because of the air-con water.||My friends on the hand where sold a cheap room of 3000 mtc, that was spacious, had a head board, great shower.|Both rooms had the same view.||Then breakfast, we ordered food which took an hour and s half to be prepped. It was only four of us in the restaurant but the service was slow and unpleasant.|The other staff members where minding their own, chatting and laughing forgetting about customers. |We put on a fuss and complained but nothing was made of it.||Bilene beach outside of the resort was dirty, had little around it. No person/s to clean it and no dustins. Great views but dirty place. This I guess would be a municipal issue but still, the resort should clean around itself.||Service training should be key at this hotel. Having to feed a waiter what your requirements are, then having to explain what you mean can prove to be difficult if there is a clear...
Read morein my life i have visited and stayed in many countries, i have lived a long time in apartheid South Africa. i could never understand the dislike Mozambican people have towards Portuguese people until my last trip to Bilene. the owners wife was on duty at the Lodge. the lodge is probably one of the best located lodges in Bilene, and has massive potential. sadly the rooms are superficial, one tv channel. showers not working properly. staff very noisy. remember you are inconveniencing them with your stay. however back to the owners wife and manager. if you are a portuguese colonialist racist you will love the place. for us others, the lady could not speak English, broken portuguese, she is actually spanish. she ignored my requests to come to my table to attend to a problem, she was rude to lack staff in my presence, she has no people skills. food was horrible. wine was rotten, and 90% of wine was portuguese wine. this visit makes the list of one of 5 worst places i...
Read moreWhen you say a budget in Mozambique of course it's not comparable in proce to places like Zanzibar and Cape Town where you get more value for money even on a decent budget. i did not have high expectations for Bilene because colleagues warned me that it is not known to be among the best beaches in Mozambique. Still CAdB is right by the water so you can enjoy a nice view and the water is not too deep and the waves do not get too crazy so it's fun to swim for beginners. Communication is not easy if you can't communicate in portugese although some staff are helpful. The people at the reception were anything but welcoming or helpful though so they could work on their customer service. Many of their clients come from South Africa so they should know better how to interact with...
