Located just beside the beautiful beach. Nice surroundings and lots of possible activities (canoeing, horse riding, kite surfing etc). We were there for scuba diving at Dive Bazaruto, and the dive center was literally less than a minutes walk from our room, which was great. We stayed at the more budget courtyard, and the rooms and the separate bathroom/shower were totally ok.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the reception even borrowed us an adapter for the outlet, as it was an old Mozambique outlet with three big pins.
The quality of the food in the restaurant varied. The seafood was at times great (the starters and the grilled or crumbed calamari for example), but the prego burger and other meat dishes could have been better. The best dish was the famous goat curry.
One negative aspect of our stay (which was highly subjective, but I still want to mention it) was that the resort felt very "white". It was more a notion than anything concrete. Basically, the guests were white people either from South Africa or Zimbabwe. Probably more an underlying social structure problem than anything else, but we didn't feel it as strongly in other places we visited in Mozambique.
Another negative thing if you're diving with Dive Bazaruto is that the restaurant opens at 07:30 and the morning briefing at the dive center is at 07:45. So if you want to have breakfast before you start diving, you have to tell the reception the day before so they can open the restaurant earlier to make...
Read moreI had a horrendous experience at this establishment. The manager Priscilla did not take corrective actions when needed and chose to simply look away when asked to intervene. What started off as a wonderful evening ended with us leaving unhappy and feeling unsafe and we will absolutely not return nor recommend this place to anyone. We did not receive what we ordered. My partner ordered the Pork Chops with mash and mustard sauce and recieved pork chops with chips. We politely asked the waiter why we did not receive the mash and were told that the kitchen was too busy. Which we understood. However, we tried to simply offer feedback on the matter as to ensure next time a customer orders something (that the kitchen is too busy to create) they could atleast communicate with the customer - we were met with a very rude response from both management and the waiter and recieved NO apology and instead offered a bowl of mash AFTER we had finished our meal. When we were then homophobically attacked and threatened by inebriated bar goers for "causing a scene" the manager/owner Priscilla simply handed us a bill thus telling us to leave. Disgusting treatment and absolutely nobody took responsibility or ownership. What could have just been helpful feedback turned into a scathing review. I do not recommend...
Read moreWe had an amazing stay at Archipelago.I have been several times with my family and they never disappoint! There’s a lovely homely feeling to the resort where you truly feel like you’re on holiday and relaxing. The staff were extremely helpful, especially our waiter Gildo, we was fantastic! The absolute best part about our stay was the food at the on site restaurant, the Sand Dollar. We didn’t bother to eat else where because the food was so good. You can also cook meals in your casa which has a fully equipped kitchen. The casas are very comfortable and spacious and we had house keeping every day who cleaned our casa very well, the laundry service was very fast! Few hours and our clothes were washed, ironed and back at the casa. |Thank you for making our stay so memorable and...
