Grand Amara Hotel — Hotel in Dekkhina District

I was with a large group on this visit. Upon entering the grounds we drove for some distance before reaching the reception / lobby. We arrived late at night and the whole place seemed deserted except for the reception. The check in was fairly quick as our guides had done most of the work before we got there.||This complex is all on one level being of a resort style (or an up market holiday camp but much more).||So my room. It was of a nice size (big) and had everything in that you would expect from an establishment that is 5 star. The bed is a large double and very comfortable. The room has a typical layout for a top rated hotel. A good sized table / bench along one side of the wall opposite the bed. Only one chair. There is a fridge, nice sized TV, kettle and tea / coffee making stuff. Also an ironing board. There is plenty of wardrobe space. There are a good selection of power points. The bathroom was well appointed, a good shower, nice sized wash basin with a good range of toiletries provided. The shower was good and even at midnight plenty of hot water. It is one of those rooms that when you are on a short stay you wish you had longer to appreciate the room. The restaurant is a large cavernous room with a very high ceiling. The breakfast offering was quite good and service good.||There is a swimming pool and no doubt other facilities but we did not have time to find out. We visited there with my friends on 20th Feb, 2019. Although hotel decoration is not that impressive, staffs from reception was friendly and helpful. They helped to arrange the cab for around the town tour. Facilities is satisfactory with pool, gym with spa (including sauna and jacuzzi). Breakfast is also nice. The problem came when we asked abt sauna and jacuzzi to pool's staff. She said there is no such services there ( the receptionist already said we can enjoy these service till 10 pm). We got confused abt her response and came back to our room. At that time she followed after us and said there was a room look like sauna and can try if we wish. When we went there, she just switched on sauna room and said it would need 30 mins to start functioning and so no time for others (steam room and jacuzzi). Actually it was 9 pm and we got enough time if she switched on all 3 rooms simultaneously. We have to asked repeatedly for these rooms to open and finally we could enjoy sauna and jacuzzi but not steam room. Beside this, she had no respect to customers and we felt that she was not friendly and sincere enough to us. Apart from this problem, i can accept Grand Amara as 4...
